All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

At dawn the disciples saw Jesus standing on the beach, but they couldn't see who he was. He called out, "Friends, have you caught any fish?" "No," they replied.
Then he said, "Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you'll get plenty of fish!" So they did, and they couldn't draw in the net because there were so many fish in it.
John 21:4-6, NLT

This story in the book of John is a powerful and wonderful picture illustrative of

  • the way God loves to surprise his friends.
  • the deity and resurrection power of Jesus.
  • the super abundant provision the Lord gives to those who follow His instructions.
  • the vast number of people God would bring into his kingdom and into a relationship with Him.
  • how believers are to "fish" for people and see them come to Christ.
  • God's desire to take people out of the world's system and into His system.

I'm sure you can think of many other spiritual parallels, but the story of "the net" is also an ideal picture of our purpose here at AllAboutGOD.net: to proclaim the power of Jesus, to see people following His instructions (i.e. teaching them to obey what Jesus commanded, Matthew 28:18-20) and to see transformed lives as people accept the Kingdom of Jesus and begin the discipleship process - thinking and acting in ways pleasing to God.

Our prayer for The Net is that God would use it in a powerful way to take multitudes of internet users and mobilize them to share the good news message of Jesus with their friends, neighborhoods and ultimately, to all over the world for Christ.

Let's all pray that God would bless The Net and we would be surprised by the sheer numbers that want to be a part of it. May there be plenty of "fish", but not too many to pull in!

While Christ demonstrated his amazing care and love for those who beleive him at the sea shore, its also important to note that the disciples never doubted when he told them to re-cast their net into the sea.Christains should learn not to doubt when the holy spirit minister to them.

AMAZING how God works...at times He makes me laugh out loud !! How he can take someone like me who has no idea what she is doing on a computer and lead me here is an awesome testimony of His love and power to transform those who love, follow and obey.
