Arrested For Being A Christian
If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? I heard this on the radio yesterday and it plunged me into deep thought. Would there be enough evidence to convict me? And to what degree would I be convicted? Would there be enough evidence to convict me of "first degree Christianity", second degree, or maybe a misdemeanor charge? If the Holy Spirit was the prosecuting attorney, seeing all_knowing all that we do in deed or in thought, would He have a solid case? Christianity is not about the bumper-sticker on our car or that t-shirt we where in public. it's not about our near perfect attendance record at church gatherings. It's not about how much money we put in the offering plate. It's not about how well we know the scriptures or our master's degree in theology. It's not even about how popular our blog is. All these things are good and Commendable, but worthless if we do not know the creator of the universe, Jesus Christ, and if you don't know Him then there is a good chance that He is not very familiar with you either. We got to talk to Jesus just like we talk with our friends or our spouse or our parents or our pastor. We can walk around all day every day talking to everyone we connect with about Jesus, and again this is good, but we need to let Him in on the conversations. When we first wake each morning and realize that we are still alive, we need to thank God and welcome Him into our day by saying "good morning Jesus, thank you for giving me another day to live for You_and now that You have given me another day to begin, would you please help me through it by making me extremely sensitive and receptive to Your Holy Spirit"?

God made us in His image and I have this strong feeling that God can get His feelings hurt. Could you imagine how you would feel if everyone ignored you, even after you tried so hard to please them, maybe you helped them through a hard time and now they treat you like you don't even exist. I dare say that your feelings would be hurt, I know I would be hurt. Lately I have been trying to get into the habit of talking to Jesus all through the day, especially when I'm alone and working or driving somewhere or surfing the web in my office and I have found that by doing this I am more aware of His presence and I am less likely to yeild to temptation. The appostle Paul wrote this_ But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). Galatians 5:16 [Amplified]Not only do we need to talk to God, but we need to listen as well. But He (Jesus) replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. Mathew 4:4 [Amplified]I am, by no means, a biblical scholar, but it seems to me that Jesus is trying to tell us to consume the word of God with the same vigor that we consume food when we are hungry or even starving. When we go without food for an extended length of time we become weak and we can't perform physically and mentally. If we drift away from the word of God (The Holy Bible) then we will become spiritually weak and it becomes much more difficult to resist temptation. We need to stop eating the poison that our present-day culture puts on our plate every day. We need to push that plate aside and reach for the plate that is heaped with abundant life, The Bread of Life, Jesus Christ .

I will close this post with a question; If you were in a court of law, trial by a jury of your peers and the jury consisted of the eleven desciples and the Holy Spirit being the twelth juror, would they find you Guilty for the charge of First Degree Christianity? [secondsamuel]
