I WAS SITTING QUIETLY ALONE THE OTHER NIGHT

AS I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW I COULD SEE THE CITY LIGHTS

I COULDN'T HELP BUT WONDER HOW AWESOME IT WOULD BE

IF WE ALL WORKED TOGETHER SO THE WORLD CAN SEE

THAT WE WOULD NOT BE SILENT ABOUT OUR CHRISTIANITY

THEN I SAW IN THE SPIRIT TEARS STREAMING DOWN THE FACE

OF THE ONE WHO DIED FOR ME BY HIS AMAZING GRACE

I SAID LORD IT ALWAYS HURTS ME EVERYTIME YOU CRY

I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT WOULD YOU PLEASE…

WELL LORD HERE WE ARE AGAIN ANOTHER YEAR HAS PASSED

YOUR CHILDREN LONG FOR YOUR RETURN SO WE'LL BE SAFE AT LAST

FROM EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPENING WE KNOW THE END IS NEAR

AND WHEN SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS PEOPLE WILL CRY OUT IN FEAR

WHY CAN'T THEY JUST UNDERSTAND UNLESS THEY HAVE ASKED YOU IN

TO BE THEIR LORD AND SAVIOR…

As I was sitting quietly with my pen and my pad

I couldn't really figure out why I was feeling bad

Then all at once it hit me the Lord opened my mind

And I saw in the spirit some people being kind

To those who were less fortunate and they looked…

The other night I found myself under heavy attack

All I could hear was satan telling me I'd always lack

Then suddenly I got mad at the devil and his lies

And Jesus calmed my spirit when he made me realize

He's given me the power to put out the devil's flame

By authorizing me to speak the power of his name

Then I started shouting Hallelujah to the lamb

All glory praise and honor unto the great I AM

The longer I kept praising him I felt…

I AM WHO JESUS SAYS I AM I'M THE APPLE OF HIS EYE

HE WATCHES ORE ME CONSTANTLY FROM HIS THRONE ON HIGH

HE IS MY ROCK AND SHELTER ONE THING I KNOW FOR SURE

WHEN I'M IN A RAGING STORM IN HIS ARMS I AM SECURE

I AM AN OVERCOMER BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

THE ONE WHO GIVES ME VICTORY IS THE GREAT I AM

HE IS MY SHIELD AND BUCKLER AND THE LIFTER OF MY HEAD

HE PROVIDES EVERYTHING I NEED AND MAKES SURE I AM FED

I AM HIS CHILD FOREVER FOR ME HE…

When I woke up this morning in my warm comfortable bed

I wished I could have stayed there and gone back to sleep instead

But the Lord was beckoning and I knew I'd best obey

So I got up and prepared myself for what he had to say

I thanked him for watching over me throughout the night

And allowing me to wake up surrounded by his light

Then I stopped and listened and as he began to speak

Just the power in his voice was enough to make me…

I had another vision from the Lord the other day

It too was so powerful I could find no words to say

I saw in the spirit destruction all around

Heavy smoke, broken glass debris throughout the town

I asked the Lord what happened; with his eyes full of tears

He said they have not listened to my warnings now for years

I gave them many chances yet they still refused to hear

I sent many messangers but my words fell on deaf ears

I said Lord…

This morning when I woke up I looked out and saw the rain

That explained the reason my body was in pain

But the hurt went deeper into the depths of me

I felt like I was tossing on a raging sea

I knew something was going on for when I feel this way

I know to sit and listen to what the Lord will say

I settled back in my chair and said "Lord, what's going on

I know you're grieving heavily I can hear your inward groan
