Today is the day that I will conduct my friend’s funeral—my beautiful friend, who life got the better of. I have conducted quite a few
memorial-type services, including my own dear mother’s, but this is the
first one of my friends to depart. So near my age, living
only four houses away, this feels so very wrong. Nonetheless,
it is mine to honor, and mine to give hope—especially to her three
teen-aged…

All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. (Mark 13:13)
All men will hate you; that is not a pleasurable foresight for anyone that is considering to become a follower of Jesus. At the same time for many in the western countries, “hate you” will have a different
meaning. Many will think probably of how some people dislike
Christianity or about Atheists making claims about the…

Today’s devotional is a testimony, praise report and a devotional all rolled into one. Last year as I sat upon the rocks on Lake Huron the day before I left to come back home from my vacation and visiting my mother, I prayed!! I prayed and asked our Father “how many more times will I have to leave this place that I do not want to leave?” It was getting harder and harder for me to do so with every passing year of visiting there. I asked Him, would I ever be able to just stay there? He…

Two men met to transact some business in wartime. The one was full of how the train in which he had travelled had been attacked from the air. He would not stop talking about the
excitement, the danger, and the narrow escape. The other
man, in the end, said quietly—‘Well, let’s get on with our business now. I’d
like to get away fairly early because my house was demolished by a bomb
last night.’…

Hi everyone, I would like to take this time to introduce myself and tell everyone why I am here.
First off I would like to say that as a child my family would go to church, not every Sunday, but we did go alot. We also went to church every Christmas eve. I also attended Sunday school as a child. When I was a child for me it was hard to learn all about Jesus. I guess you can say my mind and heart was on other things.
As years went on my dad became sick and everything that we did…

Where did we leave brother Paul? We look now at his letter to the church he had established in the city of Corinth, in which he
encouraged, instructed, and corrected the body of believers. In
our study of 1 Corinthians, we learned so much about our Christian
faith, including proper conduct within the church, and how different the
church should be from the world around us. Paul explained
the essential…

My dad got sick when I was 12 years old. He lost his legs for two years because of his sickness and died when I was 14 years old. I remember so many good things about my dad but one thing that sticks to my mind and I will always treasure in my heart is this one incident. I was acting fresh, talking like an unsaved teen. I was answering my mom in an unapropriate tone and thought I knew it all. My actions made her so mad and promised me good spanking right then and there (lol). I got…
