A supposed revelation on why they didn't recognize Him after the resurrection

Well I've been pondering the whole idea behind why the disciples didn't recognize Jesus when they first saw Him after His resurrection.....

Yesterday I kept hearing these verses from Jason Upton's song "Blinded":

"I don't know
Where I'm going
More and more each day
It's becoming just alright with me

Cuz when I know
Where I'm going
My eyes keep me
From…

Instruction:

I was just telling my brother David the other day that often - when I am searching for answers - I will open the Bible to a random page and start reading. I told David that sometimes I think this is the Lords way of speaking to me because I always seem to open the page to "exactly" what I need to hear right at that moment. Coincidence? That's what I suspected at first, but it has happened too often now. I no longer wonder - I am now sure that…

'He Touched Me'

shacked by a heavy burden, Neath a load of guilt and shame,Then the hand of jesus touched me, And now Im no longer the same. Since I met the blessed savior, Since He cleansed and made me whole. I will never cease to praise him, Ill shout it while eternity rolls. He touched me, O He touched me, And O the joy that floods my soul, Something happened, and now I know, He touched me and made me whole.

Sorrow and Joy. 2 Cor. 7.2-16

Sorrow and Joy. (drawn from 2 Corinthians 7.2-16)

An auburn-haired lad set out to make his way down the street to his grandmother’s house. He carried a little plastic boat in his hand, ready to set it afloat on the stream that flows along the back of her property.…

WORSHIP AND PRAISE GOD THROUGH SONG

Music is a powerful form of expression. Not only does it communicate thoughts and ideas, but it also conveys emotions and feelings.

God made us to worship Him. Worship derives from the word worthship ... worthiness. Worship is attributing ultimate worth to something whether it's an object or a person or even an idea. It's not just making an objective judgement that one thing excels all others, it's actively desiring and seeking. Remember that anything we do…

Love Is: 1 Corinthians 13, Am I?

In this book Gumbel tells the story of a woman that promised herself to read 1 Corinthians 13 everyday, in which Paul explains so beautifully what love and what the importance of love is.

Love

1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I…

Photo Journal: Spring as a Kingdom Metaphor

It may be me but spring seems to liven me up. Realizing that all day you have not used the log burner (which is, with the current price of wood a joy in itself), playing outside under the stars on my good old “stekkie” which is the Dutch word for a favorite little

spot, reading the Bible in the…

Photo Journal: Porters Pass and Psalm 121

Those that know me a little better know that I am not particularly a fan of snow. When people talk about snow fun I usually start to glare as snow fun used is like a “contradictio in terminus” for me. But, we

ended up taking the boys to the snow. All the excuses could not rescue

me and in all fairness, I do not know a child that does not love snow.I

tried hard to escape the inevitable, tried every excuse in the book yet

to no avail. In hindsight I am glad, since I have to…

Just Do It: Thoughts on Ecclesiastes 11:4

Todays Purpose Driven Connection email by Rick Warren focused on Ecclesiastes 11: 4

Whoever watches the wind will not plant, whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

In the email this was translated as

If you wait for perfect conditions you never get anything done.

The post continues with explanation how this promotes to serve with

what you have and not wait until the circumstances are… Continue

Quote of the day: Graham Truscott

Today I started reading Graham Truscott’s “You Shall Receive Power” (http://www.truscottmissions.com/GrahamBooks.htm) and I’d like to share the following quote from the book the title of which is derived of course from Acts 1:8:

“We simply have not had the the Power to obey our Lord’s command “to preach the Gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15 which is understood be me as all creation a in the NIV translation.)…

Hanging onto God's Word: The Bible an the Butterfly

Some time ago I posted a picture of one of the ‘adopted’ butterflies in the house after we’d rescued the cocoons from the winter cold. When going through my archive I stumbled upon the pictures below and upon a

closer look I realized that this was probably even more amazing. Of all

the places this good butterfly could have chosen to sit down after the

first short flight, it…

THE GREATEST FRIEND

Even birds say hi.

When you pass them by

Ivories clamber too

To pay tribute to you.

Because you're so strong.

You captured the throng

That once shadowed you.

They fancy you too.

I know a good thing

And, you clearly bring

Joy, peace and love

Gentle as a dove.

A perfect friend

Through thick and thin,

It would be silly

To gild the lily.

Tried tested and true

I do love…

Blessings Un-expected

In the Bible the Lord says: Those that help the poor are really helping me (The Lord), and in return I will help him that has helped me".

This is so true. I have been giving blankets and clothing to the poor recently out the depths of my heart without expecting anything in return but here it came that I myself was in need of help to get clothing for my children for school which starts next week b/c both of their fathers are gone and I am a single parent. Well, here a woman came and bought… Continue

If You Are Unequally Yoked… 2 Corinthians 6.14
