When Your Hut's on Fire

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had… Continue

Step Into the Light

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

John 3:16-30 [The Message]

16-18 "This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust… Continue

Almost the End of May

I just by chance found this great new Christian website, similiar to Shelfari, but different in that it is a group completely made up of believer's in Christ Jesus. I really like what I see so far. Since I don't believe in chance or luck, I know it was the Holy Spirit's guidance that led me here.

I've had Celeste my nearly 5 year old granddaughter with me all week, and I will also have her here with me next week. She is a pixie of a blonde, small in size, but not small in personality. We… Continue

New Day

Wow....blogging...isn't that an original idea these days.

Actually I figured I could use my blog as a weight loss journal. In the past food and I have always struggled, from one extreme to the next. At 18 I was hospitalized for anorexia, now I am severly obese.

It occured to me after many years of being suicidal that after I got saved I was wrong in the idea that I was no longer suicidal. I am just not actively trying to kill myself anymore.

As far as my life… Continue

"Precious & Magnificent

"Precious & Magnificent"*

"No good thing does He withhold

from those who walk uprightly."

Psalm 84:11

God ALWAYS gives His best...to those who leave the choice(s) up to Him. What an astoundingly comprehensive promise - "No good thing."

"Delight yourself in the Lord

and He will give you the desires of your heart."

Psalm 37:4

Many are familiar with this classic promise from scripture, however, only a fraction of those who know… Continue

Hung by the Tongue - By: Gary Eby

HUNG BY THE TONGUE...by Gary Eby

Some people just have a knack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. They are being, "Hung By the Tongue!"

A state trooper pulled a man over for speeding on a deserted road. Since the road was clear and the weather fine, the trooper had indicated that he may not give the man a ticket, and let them off with a warning. He even complemented both the man and his wife for wearing their seat belts. At that point the woman leaned over and… Continue

Health of Soul, by: Frances J Roberts

Never be tolerant of evil. Only with a clear conscience can you minister in power. Others are as aware as you of the health or illness of your soul. Very seldom is any man deceived by another in this regard. You may not know why a man is out of fellowship with God, but you do know that he is.

Be diligent to maintain an open communication with Me. Let nothing block your prayer channel. Keep your soul exposed to the searchlight of the Holy Spirit, the all-seeing eye of the Father, and… Continue

God has a plan and He surely listens

I am supposed to be busy with the second shift of the day but I feel if I do not testify now I am disobedient.

THe Word says in Jer 29:11 (AMP) - For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thought and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

Things was a bit hectic for me the past few months and days,

Sometimes you get so discourged and you ask yourself and others: "why is everything in such a… Continue

God’s Simple Plan of Salvation

My Friend: I am asking you the most important question of life. Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?

God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.”

In the Bible God gives us the plan of how to be… Continue

Seek Me When the Sun is Shining, Frances J Roberts

Give Me every care. Give Me every burden. Give Me every fear. I stand ready to help you. You have only BEGUN to taste My goodness. I am loving you all the time, but you come to me only in periods of stress. I want to teach you to live continually in My presence. I can give you more constructive help when you are well than when you are sick, but when you are well you are too busy to give Me the opportunity to minister.

So I help you now in the hour of discouragement, and I ask you to… Continue

Psalm 18:20: How Clean Are Your Hands?

"The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; He repaid me according to the cleanness of my hands".

Let me ask you a question. How clean are your hands? Look at them. If they are like mine, they are probably stained somewhat with guilt, sin, and selfishness- the hallmarks of an imperfect life. Fortunately, Jesus Christ came into the world to wash away our sins completely, that we may stand blameless and spotless before God- the hallmark of a Christian life. Thank goodness my… Continue

Drink Deeply of My Love, by: Frances J. Roberts

Be silent, My little one. My peace shall come to you as you think about Me and as you open to Me your heart. Be not disturbed by what you feel, but set your thoughts on what you know and what I have revealed to you, and new faith shall spring forth.

Never doubt My love when things are dark. Situations never change Me. The deeper your need, the more I will respond if you call on Me. In this way you can turn the darkness into blessing.

Hold to My hand. No other support is… Continue

I WILL RESTORE, SAYS THE LORD

__Although this applies to a time In Israel’s history, I have adopted Joel 2:25 & 26 as what God continues to do to restore my life to me. “And I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I have sent among you. And you shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt WONDEROUSLY with you: and my people should never be ashamed.”

MY JOURNEY TO LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING PART 1

Since I am new here, I am not sure where to start. So many things have happened in my life---some bad and some good. Maybe with this item, you will see where I came from and how God has turned my whole life around. Will tell you about the amazing ways He has done it.

Sit down and relax while I tell you this story.

Part I

Most of my life I was pretty active. I did a lot of dancing and walking and constantly on the go. I was hyperactive. About fourteen years ago I… Continue

Plain and simple.

Got this in an e-mail today and need to remember it...sometimes the more simple the message, the more impact it makes.

"God makes a promise, faith believes it, hope anticipates it, patience quietly awaits it." ~ Unknown

Lord knows, the patience is my downfall.

Thank you Lord for not giving up on me, even when my patience gives out before You act. You aren't the problem, I am. Get me out of my way and out of Your way today and do what You need to do with my… Continue

Strivings Hinder, Frances J. Roberts

My people are drifting like a boat with empty sails. But I shall blow, saith the Lord; yes, I shall cause a mighty wind to rise, and the sails shall be filled, and the Spirit shall drive you forward. You shall rejoice in Me and praise My Name.

In your own power you can accomplish nothing whatsoever in the Kingdom of God. I need your submission, but I do not need your help.

All strivings only hinder. Love is the only telling contribution you can make toward the perfecting… Continue

Chastening, by: Frances J. Roberts

No chastening is pleasant, but you need it for your growth in the graces of the Spirit. Move ahead in confidence in spite of every obstacle.

Mine eye is upon you.

Hebrews 5:8; Even though Jesus was God's Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.

Hebrews 12:5-6 And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said, 'My child, don't make light of the LORD's discipline, and don't give up when He corrects you. For the… Continue

God is worthy.

Well...it's another "one of those days." I struggle to do what is right. I fall short. I miss the mark...the mark I had set for myself. I promised I'd show love, be patient...have compassion. I tried to climb the mountain in front of me, the impossibly steep rocky cliff of life's circumstances, of my own strength. I expected to be able to do it, without a stumble. I can see it, right in front of me. "So what?" I ask...it's a mountain...a big one....I can climb it and conquer it. One straight… Continue

Missing Children

Missing Children

I pray that God is with all the missing children wherevere they are in the world.

Lord be with the familes of the missing children, let them feel your comforting presence as they try to deal with the empty place at the kitchen table, the toys no longer being played with.

Be with the children who are away from their loving familes, protect them Lord from harm.

Be with the police and authorities searching for the children who are missing, remove the… Continue
