Take Courage

One of the things guaranteed in life s that problems come. Trouble surrounds us We can't escape it. Trouble isn't some kind of punishment and we're not being singled out- it's just reality However, when it comes, we have a choice. We can hide from the trouble-and from the world-or we can turn to God. We can face it with God's strength. Another thing thats guaranteed is that Jesus overcame the world. He's greater than any trial that comes our way... Josh 1:18 Only be strong and of good… Continue

And Now I Will Show You The Most Excellent Way…Love

And now I will show you the most excellent way…Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a… Continue

Of diets and divisions ~ 1 Corinthians 3.1-4

We all come into the world drinking milk.

And then, someone gives us cereal . . .

Next, the exciting world of Gerber plums and peaches, and sweet potatoes…

Finally, with teeth, we get something a little more interesting.

By the time we get to solid food, it means we have teeth. . .

it means we are maturing.

Of Diets and Divisions - 1 Corinthians 3.1-4

Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I… Continue

His Grace Is Sufficient

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under… Continue

Sermon for 31 January 2010 entitled The Truth of Rejection; Subtitled The Rejection of Truth

Good Morning! I trust once again that all of you had a wonderful week walking and talking with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Can You believe that we are in the last day of this first month of this New Year. Time seems to just fly, doesn’t?

We have another very powerful Text to examine this morning, but first, Our Old Testament reading which comes from the Old Testament Prophet Jeremiah this morning. Jeremiah 1:4-10. Jeremiah 1:4-10. Please listen very carefully to… Continue

Is this a sign of America's coming judgment?

In less than eight years, we were ruined. America was bogged down in two unpopular foreign wars of dubious benefit. As another conflict was brewing in Pakistan, George W Bush simply walked away as if nothing had happened. Read more>>

Is reality an Illusion?

It seems to be inviolable. The idea that our consciousness occupies but a small space, contained in a fleshy shell, is virtually unquestioned. Though believers accept the concept that... Read more>>

Trijicon chooses mammon over principal

The inscriptions are small and oblique. The uproar their discovery has caused is not. The controversy surrounds the inclusion of abbreviated references to biblical passages embossed upon gun-sights manufactured by Trijicon Corporation. Read more>>…

Is there a problem with the "church"?

Wars have been fought because of it. Atheists revile it. Believers have been tortured by it. Many, if not most, have been deceived by it. It calls itself the “Church of Jesus Christ.” Read more>>

RAMBLING: MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO YOU

One hears so much of innocent people receiving bad advise. Recently here in Hamilton a youth had suffered a brain injury as a result of a beating. After his discharge from the hospital he required help to get around and to perform certain tasks. To help him a woman arrived at his home with a beautiful golden retriever trained for that purpose. The youth and his family were told the dog required some more training and it would be his. Sometime later the dog arrived only a different dog, a dog… Continue

How Happy are The Sad? Matthew 5:4

Introduction: 1. Psa. 55:6-8 "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away, and be at rest, Lo then would I wonder far off, and remain in the wilderness. I would hasten by escape from the windy storm and tempest"

2. Each of us experience disappointments and sorrows in life. If only I could escape from my problems and rest. The deeper the pain the more elusive comfort is.

3. Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn; for they… Continue

Praying

I am feeling quite desperate. I ask if anyone can or would like to include in prayers " God can you intercede in Pat and Megan's divorce. Can you shroud them in the holy spirit."

Time is running out fast now and I am truly scared, truly knotted with worry. I am praying constantly myself but I thought more help might be of benefit. I thank anyone who would include a small prayer.

God Revealed

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God,… Continue

Stand in awe of GOD

A poem for you:

I was shocked, confused, bewildered

As I entered Heaven's door,

Not by the beauty of it all,

Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven

Who made me sputter and gasp--

The thieves, the liars, the sinners,

The alcoholics and the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade

Who swiped my lunch money twice.

Next to him was my old neighbor

Who never said anything nice.

Herb, who… Continue

Fasting & Prayer

BIBLE VERSES FOR FASTING

Spiritual fasting is not just about giving up food or other items, but it is about feeding the spirit through our obedience to God. Here are some scripture versus that can inspire you or help you understand the act of fasting and how it can help you grow closer to God as you pray and focus:

Exodus 34:28

Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the… Continue

For such a time as this

FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS

Good Day~

This morning at Women of Passion we got into a lively discussion about how the Holy Spirit works in our lives, and how and when he shows himself to us. That opened the door for a couple women to share from a sacred place in their hearts, which was very edifying for all of us. Here is what I noticed: each softened her voice as she began, and I think we all knew we were standing on holy ground; the women had been in painful situations when… Continue

Judgement Day . . .

http://raycomfortfood.blogspot.com/2010/01/cool-cartoon.html

Hover over Romans 1:20-22 for proof of God's existence, and over Matthew 5:27-28 for Judgment Day’s perfect standard. Then hover over John 3:16-18 for what God did, and over Acts 17:30-31 for what to do.

Cuss words (mild or abbrev.), blasphemy, URL’s (website addresses), incivility,

or failure to give the name ‘God’ or ‘Jesus’ capitals, will be… Continue
