My story with God
After my marriage breakdown in September07, My sister (a born again Christian) invited me to her church's Christmas carol service. I was so awe struck and energized by the feeling and life in the church I decided to go on the following Sunday, where I also enrolled on their explore course, which is an explore Christianity and see if it’s for you, type of thing. I have been going to church every Sunday since and asked Jesus to be my saviour and lord and became a Christian on the 16th of Feb. I have also been going Monday nights to explore, and I also decided to go to the once a month encounter evening (basically a prayer evening) and on the 4th of march one of the leaders of our church asked if anyone wanted to be prayed over, for whatever reason, and to come to the front if they did, I felt this great need to go to the front. a lady called Irene (one of the ministry team cam and put her hand on my shoulder and held my hand with the other, and the instant she started to pray, I felt this pressure in my chest like I was filling up to burst, but I couldn’t breath, and even though my eyes were closed tight praying that the lord would fill me with his presence, I was blinded by a pure white brilliant light, then I just started crying with so much joy I really felt like I was going to burst. Irene and I stood there and prayed for quite a while as others were praying and being prayed over, and just before we let go of each other, she said "you know as I was praying for you , you were really praying for me and I actually felt the lord go into you" which made me cry even more as I had not said anything to her about what I had experience and it made it even more AWESOME, because not only did it make it special for this lady who I had never met until that moment but it confirmed what I had felt was real and not just the emotion of the moment.
Our God truly is an AWESOME GOD and I will love Him with every breath from now till eternity.

If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won't survive the week.

If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
around the world.

If you can attend a church meeting
without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare, especially in this World
today.

If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God's healing touch.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways
you may never even know.

FOR I, THE LORD YOUR GOD, WILL HOLD YOUR RIGHT
HAND, SAYING TO YOU, "FEAR NOT, I WILL HELP
YOU."
( ISAIAH 41:13 *NKJV )

We often face troubling times in our lives that
cause us to worry, and lose sleep. As a child of God you
have Him at your side, holding your hand, and guiding
your pathway through those times. For, THE LORD IS
GOOD, A STRONGHOLD IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE;
AND HE KNOWS THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM.
( NAHUM 1:7 )

He will never abandon HIS Children, throughout
their entire lives. For He is always with us no matter
what we may face, as He further promised: WHEN YOU
PASS THROUGH THE WATERS, I WILL BE WITH YOU;
AND THROUGH THE RIVERS,* THEY SHALL NOT
OVERFLOW YOU. WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE
FIRE,* YOU SHALL NOT BE BURNED, NOR SHALL
THE FLAME SCORCH YOU. ( ISAIAH 43:2 )
[*Rivers and *Fire in the verse represent difficulties in our
lives]

Therefore, FEAR NOT, FOR I AM WITH YOU; BE NOT
DISMAYED, FOR I AM YOUR GOD. I WILL
STRENGTHEN YOU, YES, I WILL HELP YOU, I WILL
UPHOLD YOU WITH MY RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND.
( ISAIAH 41:10 )

So the next time you face troubling times, do as Jesus
said: "LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED; YOU
BELIEVE IN GOD, BELIEVE ALSO IN ME." (JOHN 14:1)
Then WHEN YOU LIE DOWN, YOU WILL NOT BE
AFRAID; YES, YOU WILL LIE DOWN AND YOUR
SLEEP WILL BE SWEET. ( PROVERBS 3:24 )

Now have a great day walking hand and hand with God,
friend! Amen.

How are you sister?? I hope you are doing alright. I think of you here and there and wonder what you are up to and what the Lord is doing in your life. God always has something around the bend for people doesnt He? He has really brought me through some struggles lately and that is a great relief. Its taken time, and I can see that those issues are still there a little, but not as bad. So, another "Praise God" for me!!! So how is your daughters? What are they up to? Anyway, I better go. I hear a baby crying. Love you!!

Hello Helen!
Its been a while since I seen you online. Welcome back!
How are you doing? I was wondering how your new life in Jesus was going? I think how you became a Christian is really a marvelous story. Praise God that he drew you unto Him in such a loving way. How are the Monday nights going? I go to a bible study/book study on Tuesday nights while my husband watches the kids. Im taking that "Breaking Free" study that I told you about, by: Beth Moore. Its incredible, and I still really highly recommend that you get it. Especially if you are a new Christian. Well, Helen, I hope you are doing good and your lovely daughters!
God Bless,
Paige

Hello Helen!!!
God Bless you sister!!
What have you been up to! I havent seen you much or I havent got any messages from you. R u ok? I see that u ru online now, I just wanted to say hello, and that I have been thinking about you alot.
So how has your walk been with the Lord? I would highly suggest the book/workbook study called "Breaking Free" by Beth Moore. It is soo awesome because explains all that a bondage can be, all that it is doing, and what it will do. It talks about God love grace and mercy even when we havent been that great. Beth Moore also has other numerous studies like "Out of The Pit" and "Believeing God". If I were you, Id check out a local church or some home groups to see if they are in need to help in starting up a group or having a group in your home or whatever.
These books by Beth Moore are awesome and I highly recommend them to someone like me who struggles in the area of depression sometimes.
Well, it was a real pleasure meeting you! and I hope you have a blessed time here!!

Hello Hellen!

Your story is surely a very moving one...with a happy ending. Me-thinks that the Lord is going to use you in a mighty way because from what you relate, His encounter with you goes slightly above the ordinary. Trust me that you are going to move in leaps and bounds in the love of Jehova. Only remember, move closer to God...and He will move closer to you. Staying and growing in salvation is something we must decidedly work on. This is what my spiritual mum Nienie always reminds me! I hope to stay in constant touch with you so that we can celebrate God's emancipation together with other friends in this blessed net family. Your friend from Kenya-Pst. Bernhard
