My story with God
1. I am 64 years old!

2. My Dad graduated from Harvard...My Mom went to The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City...

3. My Dads parents owned a lumber yard in Boston Mass. They were wealthy, upper crust, lived in exclusive Hyde Park Mass and have a family historic house located in Plymouth Mass. We are direct descendents of The Mayflower!...My Aunt Bets was the president of the Boston Chapter of The Daughters of The American Revolution for 20 years!

4. My Moms parents owned a silk mill and provided all the silk used to make parachutes in World War 11. They were millionaires with an elaborate summer home on the ocean in Cape Cod Mass...When I was twelve years old, I spent the summer with them the year when the Andrea Dora ship sunk right off the ocean in front of their house!!!

5. My dad was the Sales Manager for Union Carbide Chemical Company for the United States...He visited me when I was a student at Southern Missionary College in his company Lear jet!!

6. Our family was financially privileged... we lived in Briarcliff Manor New York in Westchester County...TV talk host Allen Ludan and his wife Betty White lived in our neighborhood as did many famous people....My parents had hopes of my marrying into the social status of my exposure!!!

6. I was raised Episcopalian and confirmed when I was seven...but... I went searching for deeper meaning to my life!

7. I needed Truth... a meaning for my life that provided answers for my existence...I went searching and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came in my soul... Every new day I strive through the Holy Spirits power to repentant of my sins which I have learned to forgive myself for in the context of the blood of Christ ...Amazing Grace...Praise The Lord for what he has done for us all!!!

8. I became a Seventh Day Adventist and experienced miracles which enabled me to attend Southern Missionary College in Tennessee...My Major was Theology...I married a Theology major my Sophomore year...Richard Irwin Cavanaugh...

9. I became pregnant three months into my marriage and emerged from my cocoon a “butterfly” as I experienced the beginning of the most wonderful years of my life...THANK YOU Rick, Sam, Candace, Eric and Angel...For your love which healed me and for your constant forgiveness of my imperfections...Each one of you are a treasure beyond belief, sent from God...God Bless you for being you!!!!

10. My informal learning experience had its beginning the day I was born. World War II was ending. My dad just lost his older brother in the war so grief emotions were intense in our house. I was born to be sensitive to people in pain and eventually learned to cope with goals!

11. While I was a young student, my family was moved to a new state every two- three years because my father was working his way up the corporate ladder. I was desperate to “be popular” in these new school environments so I developed interpersonal skills with goals (cheerleading, class officer, clubs) for recognition, but my grades suffered!!

12. Later, when money was tight, I opted to run a day-care service out of my home so I could be available for my five growing kids. Meanwhile, I developed hives from stress, low self-esteem from overeating junk food, and anger at life from feeling dependent and underpowered.

13. I found hope in personal goals again and lost weight, maintained by teaching aerobics classes. Then, I took up bodybuilding and became a "competitive" bodybuilder.

14. That goal encompassed running to the gym at 4 AM every day so I could train and run home by 7 AM to be home for the kids! I also followed a healthy low fat diet and trained every day for a “perfectly sculptured” body for competition. Consequently at 44 years old, I won Ms. Central Florida bodybuilding, and came in second in Southern states, (shown on ESPN TV), along with five other trophies, in a two year period!

15. Once my children’s needs allowed for it, I went back to college. The determination principles that I had learned as a competitive bodybuilder helped help me achieve my goals as a student and for the first time in my life my GPA was excellent! I entered the Masters program in Psychology, at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. The skills I learned in the Masters program at Southern Adventist University gave me a good foundation for a Ph.D. program at Walden University. I graduated with my PhD from Walden on May 6, 2007!

16. My doctoral dissertation was research showing evidence that social context and personal characteristics are related to girls’ violent behavior.

17. My professional experience in the area of counseling began second semester of my masters program, in the Hope for Life counseling center where I learned the "art" of counseling with qualified supervision. In addition to counseling for Hope for Life, I worked at Head start as a mental health consultant where I worked with the staff, teachers, students and parents involved with five Head start schools in the surrounding area of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

18. Presently, I am working with my psychology supervisor to I finish a two year internship to become a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).

20. Finally, I look forward to finishing the best goal of all; Face to face throughout eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ … Praise the Lord for what He has done for us!
Other stuff about me:
I have a PhD. in Psychology
I am a bodybuilder
I have five children, seven grandchildren( i love to get on the floor and join them in their world!

In ancient days, slaves were bought and sold in the marketplace. A slave had no rights. He or she was auctioned, purchased, and owned by the highest bidder. We, in our unregenerate state, were slaves to sin, captive to the cravings of our flesh, rebels, and deserving of death. God in His kindness, saw our pitiful condition, had mercy on us, bought us with His own precious blood, and adopted us into His own family. "... knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct... but with the precious blood of Christ..." (1 Peter 1:18-19) When I think of the cross, the love demonstrated to me, a sinner, I am overwhelmed at the kindness of God and am renewed in my desire to live wholly for Him

Welcome to AAG. We want your experience here to be positive and uplifting. There are a couple of things that can help you maximize your experience.

Forums and Blogs: Forums are for asking questions and for sharing a response to a question someone has posted. This is a great opportunity for “iron to sharpen iron.” Blogs are for posting an opinion, view or specific message regarding a subject.

Making New Friends: You will make many new friends here on AAG. Some will send a friend invite to you. You have the choice to accept or decline. When an invite has been sent to you the “My Friends” in the upper right box on your home page will be followed by the word “New”.” Simply click on the icon and make your choice. To invite someone to be your friend you simply need to go to their home page and click on “add as friend” under their personal photo. Once someone is your friend you will be able to email each of your friends on AAG. You can also leave a message on someone personal page, but note that everyone will be able to read what you leave there.

Chat Box: There is a chat box accessible from the bottom of every page here on AAG. It is a great place to get to know people better.

Private Chats: You can invite anyone who is on line to a private chat by clicking on their picture located at the upper right part of the page followed by clicking on “Private Chat.”.

Videos: You can also upload Christian videos on the AAG main page or watch them. They are located down the left side of the main page.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. We are here to serve you to the best of our abilities.

We are glad you are here,

WELCOME TO AAG. here's a joke to welcome u here-

BIGGER TURKEY-
A woman walks into a butcher's shop just before closing time and asks, "Do you have any turkey?"

The butcher opens his fridge, takes out his only turkey and puts it on the weighing scales. It weighs six pounds.

The woman looks at the turkey and at the scales and asks, "Do you have one that's a bit bigger than this one, please?" The butcher puts the turkey back into the fridge and then takes it out again, but this time when he puts it on the scales he keeps his thumb on the turkey. The scales now show eight pounds.

"That's wonderful," says the woman. "I'll take both of them, please!"

(Ha ha ha.... gotcha butcher!)
