Got serious into jewelry 1986-2000 in Florida during advanced art studies in Sarasota. Was tired of being a starving artist from my Christian pen & ink art and branched out into various crafts like ceramics and metal casting. Just year round outdoor art/craft shows down there I sold at and jewelry was a fast seller.  Started with pewter then worked my way learning silver than gold casting.  One of the best times of my life! Moved back to Ohio, put all my books and art stuff in storage, to become caregiver to parents 2000 to 2010 until they passed on (dad May 1, 2002, mom March 2009).  Had planned on moving back to Florida when that happened, but I basically was penniless (lol, did 7 months at local homeless shelters until tad of inheritance worked it's way through courts).  Just enough to rent cheap apartment and get the VA loan for the woods and the cabin kit.
