Humility or humiliation

I saw this slogan come to pass so many times over the years as those great TV preachers hid their sin instead of humbling themselves and seeking out help and them suffered humiliation as their sin was put on the front pages all over the world.

"Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent.
Most talents are, to some extent, a gift.
Good character, by contrast, is not given to us.
We have to build it piece by piece - by thought, choice,
courage and determination." John Luther

Here is a cute one: "At night I turn my problems over to God. He's going to be up all night anyway" by Carrie Westingson Here is another cute one: "We talk about finding God...as if He could get lost." by Jerome Horton "People see God every day, they just don't recognize him" by Pearl Bailey Here is another one :"Fear knocked at the door, Faith answered. No one was there." "Some things have to be believed to be seen" by Mark Victor Hansen "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." by Albert Einstein

Today there is a Warrior protecting you....a Shepherd leading you...a Counselor instructing you....a High Priest representing you...a Comforter encouraging you...a Father loving you!

This was sent to me today from Michelle and I thought it was so encouraging

SEVEN WAYS TO SAY :

"GIDDY UP FOR GOD!"

From... Captain HighJoy America!

1. Wake Up! Decide to have a good day! "This is the day which The Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalms 118:24).
2... Dress Up! Keep the proverbial clean and pure and merry heart. The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. It is thee most inexpensive way to improve your looks. "...The Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on outward appearance, but The Lord looketh on the heart" (I Samuel 16:7).

3... Shut Up! Be careful the words you speak: you may have to eat them one day! Do not gossip, learn to listen. "He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction" (Proverbs 13:3). "He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets; therefore, meddeleth not with him that flattereth with his lips" (Proverbs 20:19). "Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end" Proverbs (19:20).

4... Stand Up! Take a stand for a Godly, goodly, well way of life. "And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season, we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have, therefore, opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them that are of the household of faith" (Galatians 6:9-10).

5... Look Up! Hold your heads High! Look up to The Lord on High! "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Phillippians 4:13).

6... Reach Up! Rise to your calling in The Lord. "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ" (Phillippians 3:14).

7... Lift Up! Take your worries to The Lord. Lift up your cares to Him. "Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God" (Phillippians 4:6).

Bev that is such great wisdom. a similar saying I have heard is;
treat everyone like they are your neighbor, because there is nothing worse than living next door to an enemy.

Linda it did the same thing to my brain when I heard it also. God wants us to depend upon His strength and for us not to be self sufficient in ourselves. This is much more proper English, but I liked the way it was said because it makes ya think.
