This is a slogan I heard today at my men's group that I love;

GOD ALWAYS GIVES US MORE THAN WE CAN HANDLE WITH HIS HELP.

Think about it that if we could do it all on our own then we could get puffed up and think we don't need the Lord's help at all. God desires us to live in dependence upon His grace to make up the slack from where we fall short.

Forgiveness is not an option!

There are some things which are just plain hard for us humans to swallow. And one of them is forgiving some who has clearly wronged us. However, Jesus said, "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother."(Mat 18:15)

But the natural human tendency is to say, "Not on your life! He is the one who must crawl back to me if he want's forgiveness, so let him come and ask for it." "I am innocent - so why should I say I am "sorry"?"
However, Jesus said, "No, you go to him." Whether you are in the right, or whether you are in the wrong, as a "child of God,"(John 1:12) you don't have an option, because you are to go to that individual.
Let's travel way back to the Garden of Eden and observe the first example of this principle. Remember that Adam and Eve had sinned against God, and God's Word tells us that He came looking for them. God's voice rang out, as He "called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" And Adam answered, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."(Gen 3:9,10)
Yes, that was the voice of a God who now pursues you, in order to forgive you. And never forget that you are indeed "naked" before God! God is never fooled by your phony fig-leaf, as you attempt to hide your sins. And He certainly isn't fooled when you refuse to forgive the one who has wronged you, no matter how bad they have treated you. AS I SAID IN A PREVIOUS COMMENT : FORGIVENESS DOES NOT MAKE THE OTHER PERSON RIGHT, BUT IT TRULY MAKES YOU FREE...

Look at Jesus' words again: "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone." Do you see any excuses, conditions, qualifications, or any other thing that lets you off the hook? Furthermore, Jesus' words aren't a suggestion, but a COMMAND....

Forgiveness does not make the other person right... but it truly makes you free!

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

1 Timothy 2:1-2

The essence of temptation is the invitation to live
independently of God.

Right now...right where you are in life, God is teaching you something! God will always change the heart that is willing to change. We must never presume He will change someone else's heart! Our story with God always begins with us and our own hearts that need changing.

God is too good to be unkind, and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart.

We should never permit ourselves to do anything that we are not willing to see our children do.
