All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

For many years i believed it was my right as a woman to get a man is is well established so that he can take care of me. i wanted a man with a house, cars, a high class man who was going to give me a fairy tale life. i guess there are a lot of ladies who can identify with that. Unfortunately its not all man who come from a rich family like Isaac. Abraham was rich so they could afford to give Rebecca gifts of gold. We have man like David who started as shepherd boys. He got his first wife as a reward for killing a troblesome giant(Goliath). People of God the bible says we dont have because we dont ask. and when we ask we ask amiss (Out of our selfish desires). This must not be so with Christians. We are suppose to reflect to true love to the world. Loving someone is selfless. Love is not about you but the other person. Jesus did not go through all that He went through for himself . But it was all about you and me. Love is asking yourself how best you can help the other person release what God has deposited in them and not how best to drain from the other person. Love is in giving and not receiving. "For God so Loved the world that He gave...." Love is when you let all your wishes and will step aside and focus on the other person. Love is when the other person is your assignment from God. The one you have to carry out in excellence and pass. Love is when you represent and reflect God's love to the other person. Love is when you make the other person feel special as a special person they are. Created in the image of God. Surely you can not say you love until you step out of the picture and let it be all about the other person. That is love. LOVE IS SELFLESS

Thank you Maria.. May God richly increase you in this season. Amen And Amen
we all talk about love these days mainly, but many people have not known what love is, our love in this world is a selfish love, because we say i love you very much but when time comes we say many excuses. God is love, In the BIble it says God SO loved the world that he gave his son for saving the human mankind. The word so is just a two letter word but you cannot tell about the quantity or the stress that is being made. we know that he gave his life.

Personally i never thought that the love of God is so strong, but now i feel the love of God everyday but you know i cannot express what is love, it is like that i cannot contain God's love in my heart, he pours out in abundance. I will say love is to be expressed and recieved not for selfish ideas but for God. If you try to fool others will hidden agenda in the name of love then God knows it and you will have to pay for that on the last day. take care God bless
yes i agree with you that love is selfless. suppose again we add and say that love is a commitment. For instance, we are in love with Christ but suppose, we are not commited to loving him, then that is not true love to Christ. Thus, love is being committed in loving and giving all the best to the recipient of it. We should be trully in love with Christ as we say He too has loved us.
True that.... GOD IS LOVE......God loved the world and gave His son to us.. Love is Love when you give.. Stay blessed Doug
Love is actions, is sacrificial, love is the strongest force and the strongest weapon in our arsenal, as Christians because God is Love!
1 Corinthians 13
Love
1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
thanks for the insights of ten missed when talking about love.just to add on..

i also believe love is not just a feeling or an emotion. i believe that it is a discipline. feelings come and go ,and so do emotions, but a discipline says, "nomatter what, i will love you anyway"
love is a spirit. every relationship created is a covenant made in the spiritual realm.that is why we can not forget our previous loves even if we get married.

i urge you to minimise the amount of "soul ties" you create, some are unnecessary and avoidable.
nevertheless, some come so that you learn a note you need to use in your mearnt to be relationship; thus they dont stay ,but go when their time is up.
some go, even if mearnt to be, they go because of our mistakes.

may God help us
Hi I enjoyed this. I agree with it. I believe that if you truly love someone then you will add value and/or worth to his/her life.
