Franklin Graham: Some Administration Officials Are ‘Anti-Christ’

March 27, 2014

CNSNews.com reports: “Some of the people working in the Obama administration and in the White House are trying to ‘completely secularize our military’ and are ‘hostile to Christians,’ to the point that they ‘are anti-Christ in what they say and in what they do,’ said Christian evangelist Franklin Graham, the son of world-renowned preacher Rev. Billy Graham.

Franklin Graham made his comments during a Mar. 24 interview with Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, which published an updated report on religious persecution in the U.S. armed forces this month.

During the interview on Washington Watch Weekly, Perkins asked Graham, ‘I would have to believe you’re also tracking, in fact I know you’re tracking because you were a part of it – when you were scheduled to speak at the Pentagon a few years ago they disinvited you – are you concerned about this intense religious hostility that we see manifesting in our nation’s military?’

Graham said, ‘‘No question. And my son just got back from his seventh [military] tour this weekend. So, I love the military. There has been huge pressure on the chaplains in our military – and our chaplains have been a wonderful thing for the military. But there is a move to get rid of the chaplains in our country, and to completely secularize our military. Actually, they are hostile to Christians…”

South Korea fires warning shots, seizes North Korea fishing boat

March 27, 2014

SpaceDaily.com reports: “A South Korean naval ship fired warning shots Thursday and seized a North Korean fishing boat intruding across the disputed Yellow Sea border, military officials said.

The vessel sailed a nautical mile south of the sea boundary at 5:26 pm (0826 GMT), prompting a South Korean patrol ship to take action, the South's defence ministry said.

‘Our side fired warning shots as the North Korean vessel ignored repeated warnings to retreat,’ a ministry spokesman told AFP.

The vessel with three people aboard was captured about two hours later as it failed to sail back into northern waters probably due to foggy weather and strong currents, he said.

The vessel's crew will be investigated to see whether the incursion was accidental, he said.

The spokesman said a tough response from South Korea was inevitable given the high tensions along the disputed sea boundary…”

University of Michigan Exhibit Celebrates Abortion as ‘Life-Sustaining Act’

March 27, 2014

The College Fix reports: “Abortion – the ‘life-sustaining act’ of the ages.

That’s the theme behind an exhibit currently on display at the University of Michigan dedicated to defending and glamorizing the history of abortion.

‘4000 Years for Choice is an exhibition of posters about the age-old practices of abortion and contraception as a means to reclaim reproductive freedom as a deeply personal and life-sustaining act existing throughout all of human history,’ states a university webpage describing the exhibit.

The exhibit will be showcased through May 29 in the main lobby of the Lane Hall women’s studies building on campus. The exhibit consists of dozens of brightly colored posters with bold words, phrases and documentation meant to highlight and celebrate all the ways in which women over the millennia have performed abortions…”

Western governments see continuing Russian buildup on Ukraine border

March 27, 2014

Reuters reports: “U.S. and European security agencies estimate Russia has deployed military and militia units totaling more than 30,000 people along its border with eastern Ukraine, according to U.S. and European sources familiar with official reporting.

The current estimates represent what officials on both sides of the Atlantic describe as a continuing influx of Russian forces along the Ukraine frontier, the sources said.

The 30,000 figure represents a significant increase from a figure of 20,000 Russian troops along the border that was widely reported in U.S. and European media last week.

But U.S. and European security sources noted that these estimates are imprecise. Some estimates put current troop levels as high as 35,000 while others still suggest a level of 25,000, the sources said.

However, the sources said that U.S. and European government experts believe that there has been, and continues to be, a steady and noticeable buildup in the total number of Russian forces along the Ukrainian border, though some military units have rotated in or out of the area…”

Terrorists Bomb Shiite Shrine in Syria

March 27, 2014

The Fars News Agency reports: “Militants from an Al-Qaeda splinter group bombed a large Shiite Muslim shrine in the Northern Syrian city of Raqqa.

Photos of the mosque of Ammar bin Yasir and Uwais al-Qarani posted on the internet on Wednesday showed extensive damage to the exterior walls and roof of the site, Al-Alam reported.

Other pictures showed concrete and twisted metal strewn on the street outside the mosque with an interior wall collapsed inward.

The site, seized over a year ago by militants fighting against the Syrian government, was once a destination for Shiite Muslim pilgrims from Iran, Lebanon and Iraq.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) had carried out two powerful explosions at the mosque earlier in the day.

The Al-Qaeda splinter ISIL and other Takfiri militant groups have targeted many historical and religious sites in Syria over the past three years…”

Fatah Calls For Renewed Terrorism Against Israel

March 27, 2014

Israel National News reports: “A senior member of Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction spoke at a televised ceremony in support of Abbas last Monday, where he declared Fatah is on the brink of leaving peace talks and returning to armed combat.

Tawfiq Tirawi, a Fatah Central Committee member, said at the Jericho ceremony ‘we in this movement have not cast down the rifle and have not let go of the rifle. The rifle is here!’

As for current peace talks, Tirawi remarked they are only ‘one of the methods of struggle. But the rifle is here, and it can burst forth at any moment.’ The comments, made on official PA TV, were translated by Palestinian Media Watch.

The theme was likewise seen in a cartoon posted on Fatah's official Facebook page two weeks ago, which showed a small boy pulling the hand of a man bearing a rifle, wearing a military uniform and a keffiyeh headscarf. The child says ‘we have missed you, come back.’…”
