How do you rebuild trust with someone who hurt you?

I'm still having trust problems with someone I've forgiven. It's been months, but I still don't fully trust them. I want to, but it's so hard to.

you have to pray about it to god, and let it go and give it to god,

We are called by God to forgive and let go even if it is hard. Remember Jesus forgave Peter for denying Him and even became closer to Peter and told him to feed His sheep.
