All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Jesus Christ, according to the Scriptures, is the only one through whom any member of the human race can be saved. We have seen that the grace of God is the only effective means by which any human being can be delivered from the wretched state of sin and death. Jesus Christ is the embodiment of the fullness of the grace of God for the deliverance of mankind from sin and death.

In introducing Jesus Christ, John points out in John 1:14: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” He further states in John 1:16-17: “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

Jesus Christ did not come to head the Jewish religion or the Western Christian religion or any religion for that matter. Jesus came to deliver the world from sin and death. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17).

There are many religions in the world. Most, if not all, of these religions, including Jewish and Christian religions, represent the sincere efforts of mankind to worship God, do what is good, and obtain forgiveness for their sins. Nonetheless, as we noted already in the case of the Jewish and Christian religions, man’s best efforts in seeking God for deliverance from sin and death may be sincere but wrong if it is not done according to God’s revealed way.

Paul summarizes this truth very well in his lamentation for the salvation of His fellow Jews in Romans 10:1-4: “Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”

The grace of God that brings salvation extends to all men of all languages, nations, and tribes. And wherever people come to receive that grace of salvation it is, according to God’s plan, always through the hearing of the Gospel and the revelation of Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Deliverer from sin and death.

What all people, who sincerely seek to know God, need is to find God’s way to Him. Jesus plainly declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). All of us must ensure we are not seeking to establish our own righteousness and way to God, but have submitted to God's righteousness by grace in Jesus Christ, who is the only Way.

Father, I thank you for extending your grace of salvation to all of mankind everywhere. I pray that the Gospel which reveals your grace in Jesus Christ for salvation continue to spread to the ends of the earth. And may those who hear be humble enough to lay aside their religious and self-righteous ways and accept Jesus Christ, Your only way, for their salvation and deliverance from sin and death. Amen.

You have very clearly stated the way to life PoemiaDei. It is clear throughout the writings of the New Testament authors that Jesus is the way, the only way to receive salvation.

To the church in Rome Paul writes: God's way of putting people right with himself has been revealed...God puts people right through their faith in Jesus Christ. God does this to all who believe in Christ, because there is no difference at all; everyone has sinned and is far away from the presence of God. But by the free gift of God's grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free. Romans 3:21-24

It is through faith in Jesus' shed blood, death and resurrection that God reveals and offers His grace; by this grace, through our faith, we are saved from death into life. Now that we have been put right with God through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. He has brought us by faith into this experience of God's grace, in which we now live. Romans 5:1-2

So then, as the one sin condemned all people, in the same way the one righteous act sets all people free and gives them life. And just as all people were made sinners as the result of the disobedience of one man, in the same way they will all be put right with God as the result of the obedience of the one man (Jesus). Romans 5:18-19

We can be saved only through our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hallellua, praise God Almighty, His Word does not lie and if He says He is the way the truth and the life, then what do we need more?praise God for His Word coming forth from your mouth brother PoemiaDei, I mean Jesus took our place on the cross, that beatings and spitting that Jesus encountered, were suppose to be for us but He Took it and rose from the dead on the third day, praise His Holy Name. Some people I know, good people from the world standard, go to church, please God with their life style, I mean they do not hurt anyone intentinlly, they just live in peace, brother, they are taught and convinced that Jesus came to show them how much He suffered and this way they can follow His example, praise God for His truth, when I said Jesus took our place, we deserved that place on the cross but Jesus got in our place, oh boy, they got soooo offended, you see, it is their own rightsnoeus, I do not care how good we are in the eyes of the world or our eyes, the truth is that we are all filthy rags, no one is holy but the Lord, all sinned and fell short, we needed the sacrifice of Jesus, bless His Holy Name, and yes and amen, He is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father except through the SON. Be blessed always.
Thanks, Therese and Wally. You just hit the nail on the head. Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone, is the the way through which any one can be saved. This is the faith we must contend for and let it be the central theme of our Gospel message.

You and I are quite aware that the Gospel is being watered down today to pep-talks minus the importance of Christ while promoting self-righteousness and methods of self-discipline. And in this way, many adopt Christianity without being genuinely saved and some even deny the deity of Christ.

So many professing Christians are of the opinion that they can become holy and righteous on their own efforts. They make the death of Christ seem vain. Oh yes, these things are quite evident these days. Remember, the devil knowing the significance of Christ to his defeat and the real salvation of humanity, will happily promote this sort of alternate Gospel, which seems to promote a form of godliness while denying the true power given to us to be godly in Christ Jesus.
