OUR GOD GIVEN AUTHORITY

As born-again believers let us examine God’s Word about our God given authority in the Name of Jesus Christ over the works of the enemy. We have only one enemy – the devil.

Eph. 1: 17-23 shows us how, by the mighty power of God, Christ has been raised from the dead and has been positioned at the Right Hand of God in heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come. All things have been put under His Feet and He is Head over all things to the Church that is His Body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.
Eph. 2: 1-10 shows us as believers in the Body of Christ our position in Christ. We who were dead in sins have been quickened together with Christ and saved us by His grace.
We have been buried with Christ and raised up together with Christ and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus to show the exceeding riches of His grace through Christ in all the ages.
This means that by faith we are seated with Christ in heavenly places at God’s Right Hand – the place of all power that has been given to Him. Since all things are put under His Feet – all things are under our feet. The feet are not attached to the Head but to the body. As the Body of Christ we are to carry out His will and fulfill His purposes on earth for the glory of God. The Head depends upon the body to do His Father’s will with the power of the Holy Spirit

Jesus Christ was manifested in the flesh and by His suffering, death and resurrection He destroyed the works of the devil (1 John 3: 8)
Jesus Christ took the keys of death and hell from the devil (Rev. 1: 18).
Jesus Christ has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into His Kingdom. (Colossians 1: 13, 14)
The power of the enemy over us has been broken and he has no right over us except what we allow him.
We have been accepted in the Beloved and we have been given authority over all the works of the devil. (Luke 10: 19)
The devil is an eternally defeated foe and in the Name of Jesus Christ we are commanded to cast out devils, preach and teach all that Christ has taught, heal the sick and set the captives free (Mathew 29:18-20 and Mark 16: 15-18).
Christ cannot do this for He is now seated at the Father’s Right Hand Bodily and we as His Body in this world are to do His Father’s will in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit cannot to this for us for He has no Body and we must do the works as He empowers us to achieve God’s will in this world.
We are to reign in life by the grace of God and the gift of righteousness through Jesus Christ.
We are His blood covenant people and stand on redemption ground (Eph. 1: 7)
We have authority over all evil spirits in the Name of Jesus Christ (Mark 16: 15-18)
We have been given an armor to clothe and protect ourselves (Eph. 6: 10- 18)
We are told to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee. (James 4: 17)
We are told to give no place to the devil (Eph.4: 27)
We have spiritual weapons to pull down strongholds and barriers placed by the enemy. (2 Cor. 10: 1-6 and Eph. 2: 10- 16)
We overcome the enemy through the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Rev. 12: 11)
Therefore let us exercise our God given authority and advance the purposes of God for us, for our family for our fellowship and for our Nation.
Only we have authority over all of the works of the devil as redeemed believers.
(Luke 10: 19)
Believe God’s Word and act on it and grow in the knowledge of God and be full of the power of the Spirit.
In the Name of Jesus Christ bring to naught the works of darkness wherever he is at work.
JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!!
May God be glorified through His Church as she walks in holiness and righteousness getting the Gospel out and hastening the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, for Christ has said that the GOSPEL must first be preached in all the world for a witness before He comes back!
He wants us to GO INTO ALL THE WORLD and now we could do that through the Internet/computers touching lives in many places in the world with THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM.
Let us also be aware that there is another GOSPEL being preached that is bloodless and so it has no power to set the captives free from the enemy’s power!
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son was shed to deliver us from the devil’s dominion over us! Glory to God! (Col.1: 13, 14; 1 John 3: 8; Ps.107: 2; Rev.5:9)
The risen and glorified Jesus Christ said to John on the Isle of Patmos,
FEAR NOT; I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST. I AM HE THAT LIVETH, AND WAS DEAD; AND BEHOLD, I AM ALIVE FOR EVERMORE, AMEN; AND HAVE THE KEYS OF HELL AND OF DEATH. Rev. 1: 17-18

Beloved brothers and sisters let us go in this God-given authority through the Name of Jesus Christ and heal the sick and set the captives free from the enemy and bring them from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God.

EXPOSING THE TRAPS OF THE ENEMY

The enemy( Satan ) uses lies to create doubt, to lure us into his trap.

In the book of Genesis the Devil in the form of a serpent created doubt in Eve by saying, “Did God really say? (Genesis 3:1)

His opening move pull mankind into into sin and rebellion against God is to create doubt through lies and distortions of the truth that he is trying to get Eve to believe.

In Matthew chapter four Jesus is being tempted in the same way. “If you are the son of God?'

First the Devil raises doubt, then he sends the temptation to try to lead us astray, and his tactics have not changed.

The enemy tries to make us believe that being a follower of Jesus is to restrictive.

Who lavishly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.( 1 Timothy 6:17 NAS )

He seeks to get us to ignores the great blessing that comes from a relationship with God,
or the riches of Christian marriage and family, the security of a Christian home, the level of friendship that we can enjoy as Christians, and countless other things that God offers to those who know and love the Lord.

He seeks to entrap us into thinking and concentrating on a tiny unimaginable list of prohibitions of what Christians are not allowed to do.

There are very few things that God does not allow us to do, and there are very good reasons why He prohibits them.

In the case of Eve, the Devil said to her that God was keeping them from something that was very desirable. In this case it was being like God knowing good and evil. ( Genesis 3:5 )

Satan tries makes God out to be a spoiled sport and that he does not want what's best for our lives. He tries to make us think we are really missing out on life by obeying God.

The Devil tries to tell us there will not be a penalty for disobedience

He tries to entrap us is to get us to believe that there will not be a penalty for our disobedience.

Like Eve in Genesis 3:4 he says to us, “You will not surely die,”
He says in affect that it won't hurt you, or do you any harm if you disobey God, but the truth is disobedience causes us to miss out on so much that God intends for us.

The Devil's favorite entrapment

It was just brought to my attention that God gave Adam and Eve a chance to repent. God said to them in Genesis 3:11, "Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat fruit from the tree I commanded you not to eat from?"

Instead of repenting they blamed;

Did you eat fruit from the tree I commanded you not to eat from?" The man answered, "That woman, the one you gave me, gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it."Then the LORD God asked the woman, "What have you done?""The snake deceived me, and I ate," the woman answered. ( Genesis 3:11-13 )

We can't blame each other, or even the devil when we sin.

James 1:13-15
13When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

In conclusion
The Devil uses lies to lead us to doubt, then he tells us we are missing out because Gods boundaries of conduct are to restrictive and that we are missing out. Then the Devil cons us into believing that there will be no consequences for our disobedience, then he tries to get us to blame others for our sin.

1John 1:9 says that if we just admit that we have sinned, then God will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God want us to know that even if we fall into one of the traps of the enemy that he will always be a very present help in our time of need. He also does not want us to be ignorant of the Devil's devices that he uses to seek to entrap us.

1John 4:4 says; “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”

1John 2:1 says; “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;”

Prayer
Father God thank you for delivering us from the entrapments of the evil one. Father help us to deal with doubt first and foremost so that we do not spiral into temptation, and fall into sin. Father help us to take responsibility for our lives, by not blaming, but repenting when we fall. Father God help us to never believe the lie that you are not a good God, and that you only give us prohibitions because you to restrictive. Help us to always see that you care about our wellbeing. We also thank you for giving to us all we need to live victorious over the enemy, so we don't have to fall into one of his traps. In Jesus name , amen.
