Praying for you. I believe we learn more in our valleys than our mountaintops! Hang in there. I know it feels like God is not there sometimes. BUT IT JUST FEELS THAT WAY. I know exactly how you feel. I wish I had that feeling of God's joy and presence all of the time, but God wants to see how we respond to him in our lowest point. I have just started to feel better on antidepressant medication. But if you read my story "SO DISCOURAGED." You can actually see how I was at my lowest point. It is very humbling, and I believe God humbled me by showing me I am just dust in the wind without him. God Bless you Aleenah...hang in there
Dear Sister Aleenah,
Mother Teresa lost her FEELINGS that she was connected and loved by God after she started her mission in India with the poorest of the poor. She lost it for 35 years!!! She walked by faith that God loved her and she was doing the work of God by seeing and ministering to Jesus inside of lepers and dying people who had been rejected by their families and society. Before she died she got the feelings, comforts and assurances of her salvation back to over flowing. The end of a persons life is the true measure of their life's character. I know that you can say out loud (Or something similar):

"Deception from Hell I don't believe you!!! Jesus loves me, God is love, the Holy Spirit is comforting me, but you are blocking it from my feelings. That's ok, because whoever gets depressed and hopeless MUST later become joyful and assured of God's love and Heavenly reward. My loyalty is with the reality of my relationship to God, not feelings. I am a daughter of God and I love God very much, even when He is quiet for a while."

Amen. So now talk it up with God and do things with God. Read the Bible together, go to a prayer meeting, do something without thought of reward for someone, who can't or won't pay you back. Example: When a wife acts like she's in love with her husband the feelings of love start to come back and then the husband responds. Our husband is God and He is doing everything for us like keeping us alive, for starters, and He is so attached to our spiritual, emotional and physical health that He is hopelessly in love with us...with you.

Thank God for never leaving me and for carrying me. I don't mind walking by faith and not by sight once in a while, but not too often!!
I like what Dr. Durham said about not deprending on your feelings regarding faith.
Faith is a free grace (or rather gift) from God and He never takes it away. God did not promise that we would not be discouraged from time to time but He did promise that He would be there right with us.
I have been dealing with major clinical depression for 8 years now and I have learned that Jesus is walking with me in my darkest times.
Thank you for sharing and for being so honest. I love GOD and i will never live without HIM. In the last year my passion has gotten lost. Can someone tell me what happen?
Sometimes we experience what some would call a "desert" time of their life. Jesus spent forty days and nights in the desert and as His dicsiples He will on occasion lead us out to the "wilderness" to draw us closer to Him. Don't rely on feelings or passion as a measure of your faith, rely on the FACT of God's love for you. Keep reading the Bible even when you don't "feel" like it and get a hold of a good daily devotional book.
