I banish ww3 in Chris's home the name of the Lord and may there be peace and companionship in Chris's home, belss her mom and may she be comforted in her senior years. Bless Chris and her family and let them feel your presence this day, AMEN

Dear Ruth, welcome to a new day!

I guess I fill this bill to a tee.! I march to a different drummer. Whatever is comfortable: Thats my motto.. The only thing I mind is the Dr. appointments, they seem endless at times. I'm glad I found this group. I'm fairly new here, now that I count the weeks though, it's been 5 or 6. These 'golden years' are tarnished, and I want to know the name of the person who said that! They're probably still in their 30's!

I certainly agree about the way some people dress in Church. Our Worship singer's are young people, and they wear holey jeans and tops that don't cover their midfifts, I've even see strapless dresses up there! I've been trying to change that but so far my comments fall on eaf ears..

Have a beautiful day Ruth

Susanne wise sages are old fogies and wombles whol dress and appropriately for the weather and occasion.

I wear thermals when it is cold, hat scarf and gloves, in the Summer I wear and sun hat and cool cotton underwear, but I cover my arms to protect them from the sun.

I do not always wear a hat in Church, but I would if requested at a wedding or funeral. I do NOT like low necklines and sleeveless dresses in Church or mini skirts. What annoys me most is young people who walk into Church wearing their ipods! Although I love to see the young ones with us of course!  This chilly weather I love my long nighties and bed socks to sleep in too. Yes I am an od fogie and proud of it!

My friendship hasn't been confirmed but I have a question....what is a Womble? I'm a grandmother and great grandmother. I don't think I grew up as fast as they all seem to! When I wear hats everyone in church stares at me. Hats are cute....I look good in hats. But where I'm from, a very wet state, people don't even use umbrella's, let alone wear hats!

Well I am knocking on the Big 70, but I don't think we can use our age as an excuse for anything! In the realms of Eternity we are still ALL children of God, just beginners!

With a lot of  learning to do yet! The best is yet to be!   God Bless your day, I know He will!

Yeh! Janet there are times that I look in the mirror and think WHO ARE YOU where did you come from? quite scarey, but mt spirit still feels like it is 25, I can only hope that the Lord will grant me  more wisdom, as I get older.

Well em and errrr Chrstine I think it must mean - I am thinking, not sure, or do not want to commit myself to something? Not a sitter on the fence myself, at least very rarely, I would rather make up my mind and say so! Without, I hasten to add being rude. Growing older is no excuse to be rude to folks, I met someone this morning who said to me 'Oh I was not sure it was you, have you been putting on weight?'

I said 'No' ( actually lost over a stone since Sep.t) 'Well ' she said 'you would fatter to me'. How is that for a morale booster on a Monday Morning! Anyone had a better one, do let me know!

Ugh! Christine, I don't like those fishy words. I am a veggie and eat nothing with a face thank you. If you want to keep your girlish, or boyish good looks, eat 5 a day of veg and fruit, plenty of greens, the darker green the better, sping cabbage, spinach, water cress. Beetroot is good too. All fruit, just go spairingly on the bananas! Not more than 3 eggs per week. Only skinned or semiskinned milk, low fat spread not butter.  Watch the fried food eat as much fresh and raw as you can. THEN, you will stay young and beautiful! Whatever your age!

We are fortunate to have free bus travel all over the UK now. I have a Senior Citizens rail card too, wihich allows me one third off the fares. We get a free TV licence, yes, there is a lot to be said for being a Womble/Oldier here in the UK!
