The Rooster
A little silver-haired lady calls her neighbor and says, "Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get started."
Her neighbor asks, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?"
The little silver haired lady says, "According to the picture on the box, it's a rooster."
Her neighbor decides to go over and help with the puzzle.
She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table.
He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says,
"First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster."
He takes her hand and says, "Secondly, I want you to relax. Let's have a nice cup of tea, and then," he said with a deep sigh ............
"Let's put all the Corn Flakes back in the box."

Would you like to expound on these verses alittle.  I'm not quite sure why you selected them as the Word of God for today,

Thanks.

It's great to be able to be a servant for Jesus by some of the littlest things, like smiling and being cheerful.  I've been amazed at how God opens up doors to encourage others.

AMEN, Evangeline, if we take the focus off of ourselves there is just so much that can encourage and lift us up, when my Nana wakes up every morning and says Hello God another day in Paradise. and that is how she starts her day, in paradise........ seeing everything in gloriously bright GOD colors and she is just as cheerful before she goes to bed at night as she is in the morning.

I feel better now than I have ever felt, but with chronic health problems I am looking forward the pearly gates.  But until God calls me home, I am going to enjoy my grandkids, blizzards, and the rest of life.

I just did not see any humor in insulting someones attitude in this very difficult world, perhaps that was not intended but one really needs to count ones words when one gets personal. I admire older folk who still have a young spirit and I cannot understand why some of us are still young at 60 + 70+ and even 80+, and some are ready for the pearly gates..... well in attitude anyway....... and bring a sour note to everything they touch. In our congregation there is a lady whom I admire greatly she is 98 and has been handicapped for 90% of her adult life and even at 98 she is very active on the internet and has many friends all over the world with whom she corresponds and she is very involved in the Temperance Society and still talks to ladies groups etc.........so when is one really OLD?, my Grandparents are still alive Poppa is 99 this year and Nana is 98 and they are still full of life........... so what is really OLD.....I believe it is in the spirit.......

Come On! Ruth you have to admit that was funny, go on be adventurous crack a smile one in a while I dare you. its a bit like the little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead, and when she was good she was very very good and when she was bad she was wicked.......LOL :-)

Well Chris, I think it is very sad you are soooo hungry. I do appreciate some pensioners are finding life hard but I had no idea things were that bad. Would you like me to send you a food parcel? I am sure I could russle up a few biscuits if that would help!
Comment by Prophet on February 28, 2011 at 1:51am
Yup I agree Chris, there is more time when one is old for some levity in life one gets so tired of being sour and serious all the time........ even God had time for levity in creating some of the strange animals that exist on this earth....... There is a time and a season for all things........even fun and if we went around being soooo serious all the time....... where exactly would  JOY come into it.......LOL :-) love the worm poem you go girl
