All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

www.allaboutgod.com (Prayer)

Biblical prayer is communication made available to man by the grace of God in order that man may communicate with God.
While today God primarily speaks to man through His written Word (the Bible), He encourages man to speak to Him through prayer.
Prayer is not complicated or difficult. In a nutshell, it is simply talking to God. Prayer is a grace-gift from God to man, that is, man does not deserve such a privilege and can never, by his own works, merit it.

BY PRAYER we make our hearts' desires known to God, both our "wants" and "needs".
John 16:24 – Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.
Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
John 16:24 – Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.
Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

We transfer our burdens to God through prayer.
1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Philip. 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. [7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Jesus thought it important enough to teach us how to pray.
Matthew 6:5-13 – "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth; they have received their reward in full.
[6] But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
[7] And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
[8] Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
[9] "This, then, is how you should pray: " 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
[10] your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
[11] Give us today our daily bread.
[12] Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
[13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'

PRAYING THE WORD OF GOD IS TO PRAY ACCORDING TO HIS WILL.

PRAYER CAN BE DONE WITH A SONG DECLARING OUR FAITH AND BELIEF IN THE LORD AS WITH THIS SONG SUNG BY KERI JOBE; HEALER
Prayer to be saved

You are welcome to use this prayer to guide others into a relationship with the Lord. I wanted to create something that was so simple that a child could understand what they were praying.

Dear God the Father,
I realize that I am a sinful person, if I look at the 10 commandments I see that I am guilty of violating most of them, your word teaches that if I am guilty of one of them that I am guilty of all of them. So here I am, a sinner and I am worthy of your full judgment. Your word says that even though I am a sinner and that as a sinner death and judgment await me;
You have provided a gift for me of eternal life; this life comes through placing my faith in the Jesus your son, believing that he paid the full price that I owed. I don’t deserve any thing, but I ask for mercy. Forgive me, I now repent of my sin and turn to you.

I ask that you would cause me to be born again, Jesus I open up the door of my heart to you and you promise that if I invite you to come in to my life, that you would come. Right now I receive the new birth.

Thank you for coming into my life, thank you that the blood of Jesus washes away all of my guilt and shame, right now I am a new creation, old things have past away all things have become new. I believe that the blood that was shed by The Son Of God washes away all my sin.

You will never leave me or forsake me; and I can do all things through Christ who now gives me the strength. I am now the temple of the Holy Spirit and God now live in me.

Father, Your word promises me that the Holy Spirit will now abide with me forever, He will be my coach, and will help to produce the character of Christ in my life.

I don’t understand it all right now, I am like a baby who has just been born and I will need a spiritual family to support me in my growth. I will seek out a fellowship of others who know you also.

Again I thank you for salvation, Thank you Jesus, for you are the way, the truth and the life, thank you for saving and loving me and allowing me to be part of your family. Amen.
