Where did God come from?
I am not trying to start trouble, I believe my Lord and my God totally. But a few days ago, this question crossed my mind and it shook me up a little. I praise my Lord...that I cannot claim to know all His workings and all His ways. I can be as a child and trust my Lord and through 'faith' He gives us Grace and peace.
However.....I think this 'is' a viable question and probably an interesting topic for conversation.
Evolutionists believe the 'Big Bang'...'just happened', but Creationists ask, What went bang, and what did it go bang in?". But.....'If Creation came from 'nothing'.....what did 'nothing'/void' come from? What was 'nothing' 'in' when it became 'something', .....and where did 'God' come from in the 'nothing' to create 'something'?

Just a word to get our focus on Him,
God was NEVER "there" until the day we kneeled in Prayer in Repentance, asking for forgiveness and invited His Holy Spirit to come into our lives.
Did I say: "Never"?..... No He was always there and even here, just patiently waiting to guide us into all truth and to raise us from the Dead and remove us from our trespasses and sin, just as He always has since creation.

This is way too deep for my finite mind. You guys are giving me a headache trying to wrap around all you are saying. Okay, Brother David and Ron, here is one: if God gives us eternal life, does that make us eternal as well?
The gift of God to us is eternal life. Does that just mean life unending? Ah, never mind, it is just too deep for this finite mind to grasp.
Love you all but especially Him, but I guess you are all in Him. This thing is big.

We experience eternal life because we partake (join) of the life of Christ who is eternal. John 15 gives us a good example of this when we read of the "Vine."

I believe that every person that has ever been born, from the time of their birth on, are eternal beings.
Everyone on earth is eternal from the time of birth. The difference to me has always been where folks will spend eternity. Even the wicked is eternal, but hell awaits them. We are eternal as well, but not eternal as God is. But eternal beings with a starting point. We are infused into eternity, for the divine nature resides in us, to enable us to have an eternity in abundance of life.
Eternal:
1. Being without beginning or end; existing outside of time. See Synonyms at infinite.
2. Continuing without interruption; perpetual.
3. Forever true or changeless: eternal truths.
4. Seemingly endless; interminable. See Synonyms at ageless, continual.
5. Of or relating to spiritual communion with God, especially in the afterlife.

The second meaning among the five above is the one applicable to us. The first one can only be attributed to God.

Ohhh one more thing Roy,
The blessing for us is not eternity in its self, but the fact that we will be with God. To have eternity and be apart from God, that constitutes Hell. I know you know this but i enjoy writing it. :)

I know we have deviated from your original topic here and I hope you bear with me as I find it necessary to clarify my statements concerning eternity and humanity. :)
I just want to make sure that no one thinks that I am saying that all humans have eternal life apart from Christ, Ok. - I am using the word eternal with a different meaning when applied to us, than when the word is applied to God. What i wrote up above is that "I believe that every person is an eternal being," but that is very different from having eternal life.
This is what I am saying:
1. What is eternal life?---eternal life is the life of God. It is not simply "life that lasts forever", or everyone in hell could also be said to have eternal life. Eternal life refers to both the quality and the length of the life experienced. Jesus came to give us abundant life, in length and quality. So I believe we can start experiencing it now.
2. Where is eternal life?---eternal life is in Jesus Christ! Eternal life is not in heaven. It is not in a place but in a person, Jesus Christ! It is definitely not in us!
3. How do we experience eternal life?--- we experience eternal life by experiencing Jesus Christ! Eternal life is not a thing separate from person, but Jesus said "I am the resurrection and the life". And John said in 1 john 5:13-"he who has the son has life. He who does not have the son does not have life"
4. How do we receive eternal life?--- we receive eternal life not as a commodity, but as the fruit of a relationship! God doesn’t give us eternal life, he gives us Jesus Christ! "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son...." as we experience Jesus, we are experiencing all of him, including his life and power!
Just in case anyone out there was ready to call me heretic hahaha I think this explanation should help. :)

I teach that if heaven is your goal you are aiming to low. Our goal is God Himself. Heaven is a benefit or by-product of that relationship with the living God.

Forgiven...
I believe that this is a question that Satan throws at us to stop us from seeking God further. He is a mastermind...and has been around since the beginning of time....he knows what it will take to cause us to question God, and he never hesitates to use anything and everything in his arsenal.
Just accept that somethings God has withheld from us, for reasons that only he knows, and follow him anyway.
