trying to keep a relationship togather
HI, I turned to Christ several yrs ago. I asked him to be my GOD...someone that I could talk to daily. I have a relationship issue that I could use dome extra prayers. Here's the situation....My Gilrfriend told me about 3 weeks ago she needed space....to deal with past abuse issues...it sounded as though she is scared to get close to a guy now...anyways I have talked to her 5-6 times since then and she says " one day we just maybe back togather" she stated she wants to talk to a pastor for help....please pray for us and any advice would help....she is 47 and I am 49...Dan

God Bless each and everyone one you for the prayers and support. I will keep you updated on how this is working out. We talked on the phone a couple times yesterday. Both times had great visits. I advised her that I had contacted our church and am going into visit with one of the pastors today, she asked about it and I advised I needed to. She thought about it for a while and said she needs to do the samething sometime. So with all the prayers and the help from above she is thinking that with help she can get past this terrible time in her life. I pray she continues on the right path to help. I do support and show her that not all men and abusive. Please keep up the prayers and comments and suggestions. Dan

Today is a great day...I get to see and talk to my girlfriend. I had a session with the pastor of the church we both attend and it was very helpful...continue to pray for the two of us...I see hope in this relationship. I feel God is with both of us in the hard times. Praise God...Dan

Well...lets just say that I know God is helping on this. Sometimes he lets us suffer. Not to hurt us but to test us. The girlfriend and I met today and had a great chat...had some tears, laughs and smiles....one day soon we will be togather...she just need some space to figure her life out and to deal with past issues. I believe the best thing I could do for her is to let her have the space she requires. One thing I can honestly say here is I am not worried about her having an interest in anyone else...that comes from my heart...I trust her 110%....I give my word to everyone on this board that I am going to make every effort to support her in these trials we are going thru...I ask each and everyone here to continue to pray for us...bless each and everyone for your prayers..Brother Dan

Well today we went to church togather and I took her out for her birthday dinner which actually was this last wednesday. She told me that no one did anything for her birthday and she mentioned that birthdays have always been a big thing for her in her life. I believe the best thing for me to do is to give her space...several days with out contact from me??? Let me know what everyone thinks about this...Dan

Hey all..well a little update to my situation. I have had a little contact with the girlfriend. She has texted a couple times to let me know what she is doing...I just keep praying to the lord for help and for forgivenesss of both of our sins. I pray that he will allow our paths to cross one day. I thank him for bringing me a special gift which is her. I know she is a special gift that he gave me 6 months ago. I will be there when God decides that I am worthy of her in every way..Please keep us in your prayers..Brother Dan

Hi everyone, here's an update....I know its been awhile but things have been working slow. The exgirlfriend and I have been talking by phone some...been taking things slow....we have a date planned for next thursday night. I know the Lord is with us and is working on us for what he wants us to be. With all your prayers and with mine we are coming back togather...Praise Lord for his power. Amen ...Dan
