All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I have to say that when the Lord speaks to me I dont hear Him Useing Thees and Thous, and yet at the same time He does not speak in an uncommon manner, and at times He does not follow His words in the Bible, like when He said to me *go to the bank and look at your account in detail, ask for advice, you dont find that in the bible, but when I did do as He said I found I was been robbed of my account. so if God sais get off this train or move then I do with no  question, on all these occasions I have found His voice to be true and glad that I followed Him. but as I say He did not use scripture as He does in other occasions and no thees and thous.     what do You think !

Christine,

There are two parts to what you have posted.

1) Can, or does, God speak to us in words other than Scripture? The answer is "yes." He is not limited to only quoting His own Word and will speak into our hearts or minds words that guide or correct us (among other things).

2) God will not contradict His written Word. One of the safe guards we have when we think we are hearing from God is to examine whether this aligns with God's Word. (Aligning here simply means that it goes along with God's Word and in no way contradicts or changes His written Word).

Lord Bless, LT
