All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Most Christians believe that they understand what the Gospel is and that they are now saved. What do you say? I would like to see responses in relation to what you believe the Gospel is and whether there is any doubt whatsoever that salvation occurs on this earth.

David, I love the righteousness video.

There is a personal and historical proof as well.  After all here is a website devoted and maintained by people who have been changed by the gospel. We know that the Romans tried to kill the Christians in the areans but people had rather die with Christ than live without him.  Irland's entire culture was changed by one slave who preached the gospel after being captured in his home of England. St. Patrick.  Where are the vikings.  Yep, they to were conquored by Christ.  Elsalvador had a particularly bruital tribe that speared everyone including eachother.  They even speared the missionaries that brought the gospel to them.  And the wives of the slain missionary brought the gospel to them and they have been forever changed.   The book Through Gate of Splendor.

So I have absolutely no doupt that salvation occurs on this earth and will continue to occur.

The gospel. :)

>>I find it amazing how individual human beings think they know more than the Church when it comes to the Churches’ teaching. Jesus is it and how do you know Him? Through the churches’ teaching.

I am familiar with  Corapi, but statements like the one above are true if the church is correct and aligns to scripture in what they are teaching, but when the Churches’ teachings deviate from scripture I chose the authority of God’s word, not the Church or its leaders. Some churches’ interpretations of certain passages have been challenged for hundredths of years. The church is the bride of Christ which is comprise of the members of the body of Christ, every BORN AGAIN CHILD OF GOD and not an institution of church body, though inclusive of both when they are comprise of BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS. :)

What does God’s word say about what Corapi states:

John 16:13  New International Version (©1984)
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

1 John 2:27 New International Version (©1984)
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him.

John 6:45 It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.

1 Corinthians 2:12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

Hebrews 1

1 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.

Now let’s look at the other side of the coin.

Matthew 18:17New International Version (©1984)
If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Ephesians 4  11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Acts 5:40-42  New International Version (©1984)
His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.

The Church, the bride and body of Christ has the authority to discipline its members and it has been established and gifted for some to exercise ministry gifts, but if a group of born again believers (church institution) makes a mistake in doctrine, then like the apostles I will not listen to that church body and follow the example set for me in scripture. God has given me teachers etc… but has reminded me through many scriptures that He is the teacher of teachers. Someone confined to an island, hospital, jungle or cell can come to maybe even a better understanding of the word than we, because He has less distractions and it’s depending on the Holy Spirit for enlightenment, but we can enjoy the same benefits in our busy life if we discipline our life’s and establish a quite hour with our Lord.

David,

I guess you just don't like the word 'church'. Ok..replace the word 'church' with the words, 'the bride of Christ which is comprise of the members of the body of Christ, every BORN AGAIN CHILD OF GOD'.  No problem bro. it's the exact same thing.

Or are you impling that Father John Corapi couldn't possibly be a born again child of God simply because he is Catholic?!  If that is what you mean I'm going to kick you out of our Catholics are Christians group! LOL!

Sharon.

Sharon,

The word church is perfectly ok beloved. I was only stressing that we are the church, every member, regardless of the denomination's name they are under as long as they hold to theChristian fundamentals or primary doctrines.

I would not dare imply or say that a person is not saved because they are Catholic. There are saved folks in the Catholic Church as there are in all other Christian denominations.

Hahahha you are going to boot me girl. That ain't right, I just joined and you see I am behaving :)

Hey sis,

There are actually a few things I don't agree with in the video, but you are mistaken in assuming I ignored the message of the video. It actually made me happy to see a Roman Catholic Church minister speak as he did about the truth. There was a time when the message was a bit different.

I did enjoy the part of the video that stressed what you quoted above.

Blessings sis.

From Richard L. Broch,Sr.:

Hey Bro David I feel exactly the same way about the video.

Grace and Peace.
