All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

If Christ has truely defeated the power of Satan on
the Cross, Why do the powers of evil effectively
operate in the world ?

" And having disarmed the power and authorities
he made a public spectacle of them,
truimphing over the. By the cross, " Colossians, 2:15

In light of all this , I believe the real problem is how we are to understand Colossians 2:15 which seems to
contradict so much of the New Testament witness, not to me ton our own evil in the world, A few sentences
in Colossians , seem to express a real eschatology that is, a brief that Christ triumph over evil is already present.
A Good reading of Colossians : 2:15 must take into account the letter as a whole , some in the church at Colossae
Had been astray into superstition reverence free cosmic powers apart from Christ. The reverence for the these
angelic power was accompanied by strict demands for ascetic self denying practices,
Therefor , Colossans 2:15 must be read as a visionary statement that sees God final redemtivde purpose
as though it were complete , since the final outcome, is guaranteed by the Cross and Resurrection.

He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. Colossians 2:15

2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

Ephesians 3:10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

Colossians 2:10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

Peter reacts to this disturbing situation by declaring the primacy of Christ over all creation 1:15-20) The death
and resurrection of Jesus, nose seated at the right hand of God, ( 3:1) established the authority acclaimed by the
false teachers at Collssae, because Jesus is Lord, Paul argues Christians are free to disregard the self- abasing
regulation accociated with angelic figures.
You are write Colbey, about omnipotence as one of God attributes, thank you for that.
Davidn, I am in agreement with you I regards to Colossisns ( 2:10 )
