Hi Raul,

Matthew 10:8

"Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. You have received without payment, so give without payment."

Many Blessings my brother.

Hi Raul,

It makes complete sense. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not of this world so how can anyone expect to purchase something that is not of this world by using the things of this world? The two worlds are completely separate and exist in two different realms.

Raul,

I also wish the prosperity Gospel would just go away. It's an embarrassment to the Church.

They say that the nearest way to mans heart is the stomach. Somehow we cannot deny that is somehow true to many.

Anyone  filled and satisfied can say their day is complete, never mind the other things. Maybe thats what only they want and understand. God promise to bless us abundantly, shaken together, runnig over and no room to put it in. But it is for the faitfhful not for everyone and according to His will, not in material aspect only but in all aspects of our life, if we obey Him.Prosperity gospel is very nice not only in the ear but also a good conditioning for our mind. Satan usually uses our weakness and wants to trick us. Pleasing to the eyes, music to our ears, fulfilled dreams into our mind and feeling of love and acceptance in our hearts. Who can resist that offer?  Deceivers, anti-christ, false teachesrs thats they are. Roaming around waiting for somone to devour. Beware... Test every spirit...

Not all television evangelists preach in this manner. Some do but others do not. It's time to test the spirit. Not all deserve to be painted with the same brush.

Since I came back to the Lord twenty odd years ago, I have been comfortable. God has provided for me and He is still providing for me. He will continue to provide for me. I am able to help others who can't help themselves and I do it gladly. I don't use the advice of televangelists. My dependence on God has put me there.

When I watch preaching on TV, I test the spirit. Is what the preacher saying beneficial to me? Is it God's Word? That's what I look for. If the answer to those first 2 questions is no, I turn them off. If it is truth, I continue to listen.

Those guys can't live without money. Some of them could live on a lot less, but...so could many of us. But not all television evangelists are money grubbing. There are some that actually live quite modestly. So...........discern the spirit.

Blessings,

Rita

Raul.............

I'm NOT disagreeing with you. What I AM saying is.................. test the spirit of the man who is speaking God's Word,

Whether it is on TV or in the pulpit at one's own church. God has given us the ability to discern spirits and we need to exercise this ability.

I also want to state that there are evangelists on TV that are very good. They have a deep knowledge of God's Word and a unique way of teaching it.

Blessings,

Rita

Amen, I agree 100%.

God Bless You.

Well said.

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

We`re to conform to the image of our Lord and Savior.

Romans 8:29, " For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many brethren."......      So, if we`re supposed to be like Jesus - He didn`t have much money or valuables, didn`t even have a place to live......... and look at His disciples, while they were with Him, and later for the rest of their earthly lives.

Jesus kind of sums it up in John 16:33, " These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."    Amen.

One Biblical passage we might want to take note of, however, is Philippians 1:15-18, " Some, to be sure, are preaching Christ even from envy and strife, but some also from good will; (16) the latter do it out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel; (17) the former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, rather than from pure motives, thinking to cause me distress in my imprisionment. (18) What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice, and I will rejoice."......SO, God will take care of business as He sees fit. I don't pay much attention to these types.

I agree, saints, they try our patience.

Grace and Peace.

Hi Raul,

I agree with everything you have written.

1 Timothy 6:9–11

9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Fight the Good Fight of Faith

11 But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.
