All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

A friend of mine is a great student of the Bible. He tells me many things he has learned in his Bible study time. I have invited him here. Hope he comes soon.

His main topic is the origin of satan. Before he gets here I want to hear from y'all. Did satan fall or was he made as he is from the beginning?

AMEN!!! Terry............ Well said....
Hi Terry

Just because a person has a choice to do or not to do something does not necessarily prove the permissive will of God. It would be the excercising of the will that God endowed him or her with. If a person was created with a will of his own to make choices with , these choices would be his by his own will and not God’s. It is however God’s will for us to have a will. What we do with our will is up to us and no one else. Whatever we choose to do in deed or say in word makes us responsible and not God nor anyone else.
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. (Rom 14:12)
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Ecc 12:14

You stated in the last two paragraphs that
Sin can only exist by God permitting it to exist.

If that is the case, God made a choice of his own will and created Satan. No one else did.

If Satan is who he is it is God’s will for him to exist as he is otherwise God would make him over. He would then be different. But this is not the case.

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a MURDERER FROM THE BEGINNING and ABODE NOT IN THE TRUTH, because THERE IS NO TRUTH IN HIM. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
And because I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, ye believe me not. Joh 8:45

1. murderer from the beginning
2. abode not in the truth because
3. there is no truth in him.
4. he is a liar
5. father of it
( How can anyone tell the truth if the truth is not in them?)
( How can anyone love if there is no love in them ?)
( How can anyone abide in the truth if there is no truth for them to abide in?)

Question: IS SATAN CAPABLE OF TELLING THE TRUTH?
Answer: NO
DID JESUS TELL US A LIE?
NO
Question: IS SATAN WHO HE IS BY THE WILL OF GOD?
Answer YES
( God did not destroy him and make him over again because he did not make a mistake in the first place.)
JESUS SAID HE WAS A MURDERER FROM THE BEGINNING “I TELL YOU THE TRUTH.”
THIS IS NOT AN ASSUMPTION. THIS IS THE TRUTH AS JESUS SAID!
LET US NOT CALL JESUS A LIAR. LETS BELIEVE HIM !!!!
IF SATAN IN THE BEGINNING MADE A WRONG CHOICE, HE DID IT ON HIS OWN. HE IS WHO HE IS.

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto DISHONOUR?

Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the CROOKED SERPENT.

Isa 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
Isa 45:7 I form the light, and CREATE DARKNESS: I MAKE PEACE, AND CREATE EVIL : I the LORD do all these things.

TO WHOM WILL YE LIKEN ME, AND MAKE ME EQUAL, AND COMPARE ME, THAT WE MAY BE LIKE? Isa 46:5

Satan does not have equal or greater power than God.
HE NEVER HAS AND NEVER WILL.
Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them TO PRESENT HIMSELF BEFORE THE LORD. DOES THIS LOOK EQUAL OR GREATER? DOES THIS LOOK LIKE RESISTANCE?

Rev 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

HE DOESN’T LOOK LIKE A BEAUTIFUL ANGEL TO ME . HE LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING SOMEONE WOULD PAY TO SEE AT A CIRCUS.

THERE ARE OVER TWELVE HUNDRED SCRIPTURES ABOUT OUR ENEMY IN THIS STUDY . IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PURSUE IT, IT WILL SURPRISE YOU WHAT YOU MIGHT FIND.

GO BEYOND WHAT YOU KNOW OR WHAT YOU THINK YOU KNOW.
OR EVEN WHAT OTHERS HAVE TOLD YOU. THERE IS NO LIMIT WHERE WE CAN GO WITH THE LORD!!!!!

GOD BLESS
Hi Terry

Have you prayed about this subject and ask God to help in your study? The bible says all scripture is given by inspiration (2Ti 3:16)

Jas 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Ask and you shall receive
Seek and you shall find
Knock and it shall be opened unto you

I thought I was making it convenient for the reader to not have to look up each reference .
Maybe I need to improve. There are just so many scriptures. It took me five years to search out. But I can say it was very rewarding for me. God layed it on my heart to study this when I read Isa 45:7. This one particular part really caught my attention “I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. “
I noticed the word create was in present tense instead of past tense.
So I took the word evil and began my study. Every word that I thought was linked to it I also checked it out.
This is probably a deep subject to be looking into for some people. Maybe you are not ready at this time to do so. Some people just like to listen to a minister who is still in the baby stage and keep their flock on the milk. The flock may not have teeth to chew the meat and choke when trying to eat.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

GET OUTSIDE THE BOX GO BEYOND EZE 28 & ISA 14 There is a lot to learn if you want to.
Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
You'll never convince me to your way of thinking and I'm sorry to admit I'll never change you to mine. I don't agree at all with your doctrine, I believe you are dangerously heading away from what the scriptures teach. We will have to agree to disagree and leave it at that. At best this is a minor doctrine and your over emphasis on this one subject is borderline cult. I count you as a friend but I don't want to discuss this topic any further.
So much for Fishers of men Lol
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

First of all the context has to do with the deception of the enemy. Deception is what he does. Have you ever been deceived by false advertisements? Have you ever seen how good a McDonnell’s hamburger looks on TV? Looks great! When you go there to get one it is nothing like what it looked like on TV.

The word transfigure in the Greek (Strongs 3345) can mean to disguise. Dealing with the deceiver that may the correct understanding of this word. You may could say it this way, “He can clean up good and even look like someone who can be trusted.”

Lets move on to the word “angel.” In the Greek (Strongs 32) which means a messenger; especially an “ angel”; by implication a pastor: - angel messenger. In the book of Revelation there are letters written to 7 churches and each are addressed to the angel at that church. This is the same word used as this one. This shows that “angel” is not always the same thing as Tess or Monica. That is to say that an angel may not always be a divine being.

The last word I want to spotlight is “light.” Even in English this is not always taken as to mean the light you can see. Flip the switch on the wall and you get light. Gain new understanding or an idea and a “light” comes on, as it were. This is the same as what we find in the Greek word “phos.” (Strongs 5457)

metaschēmatizō (3345) - met-askh-ay-mat-id'-zo - μετασχηματίζω - From G3326 and a derivative of G4976; to transfigure or disguise; figuratively to apply (by accommodation): - transfer transform (self).

aggelos (32) - ang'-el-os - ἄγγελος - From ἀγγέλλω aggellō (probably derived from G71; compare G34; to bring tidings ); a messenger; especially an “ angel”; by implication a pastor: - angel messenger.

phōs (5457) - foce - φῶς - From an obsolete φάω phaō (to shine or make manifest especially by rays; compare G5316 and G5346 ); luminousness (in the widest application natural or artificial abstract or concrete literal or figurative): - fire light.
I believe Lucifer was in charge of worship and that he was the anointed cherub. God had blessed Lucifer with everything. He walked in the holy mountain of God and was covered with precious stones. He was beautiful to look at. Perhaps his conceit and vanity are his weaknesses. He thinks far too highly of himself, more than he ought to think. He didn't like what God asked him to do and rebelled. He fell and took one-third of the angels with him.

God doesn't like rebellion. Proverbs 1:7 (The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.) When approaching God it should be with the spirit of meekness. Consider Korah and the revolt in the desert. Korah thought that he had as much right to lead as Moses. Korah and those with him were punished by God.

By Lucifer's example and Korah's example, we can learn to stand before God with meekness and humility. The Lord is our strength and we must fear Him and that is the beginning of wisdom.
Where is that? " Lucifer was in charge of worship and that he was the anointed cherub. God had blessed Lucifer with everything. He walked in the holy mountain of God and was covered with precious stones"

I'll see if I can find it.

Oh yeah! You are talking about Ezekiel 28.

12. Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so : thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

#1 According to verse 13, did the king of Tyrus ride in the arc with Noah and his family?

#5 The word anointed is “mimshach (4473) - mim-shakh' - ממשׁח - From { H4886 } in the sense of expansion; outspread (that {is} with outstretched wings): - anointed.” Did he have wings?

#6 This is getting too long. Verse 16 clearly said that he sinned. Right?

Let me wrap this up. It is too obvious that even though the king of Tyrus is spotlighted this must be dealing with more than him.

Proverbs 1:6 To understand a proverb and an enigma,
The words of the wise and their riddles.

We are dealing with an example of that here. Who then is this passage actually about? I may not be the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree but I can take a good guess at who this is about. What do you think?
Hi Everyone!

John MacArthur's answer which Ron posted, sounds right to me.... We all have to humbly accept that we are not going to have the answers for everything that we ask. Perhaps God designed it that way so that we would simply trust Him with the simplicity of a child.

Also.. I just had a thought.. perhaps God created satan as he is to demonstrate the power of greed and pride, lust etc in our lives when we don't trust in Christ.... God perhaps is using satan as an example to all of us.... This is what happens when anyone steps out of obedience!... not like a threat! but a loving guiding hand..giving all humanity a warning.

What we do know.. God is Love! True Love is a choice of free-will. God gives each one of us that freedom! We know that satan was with God...satan saw God's ALMighty Glory..and benefitted from God's Creative Power!... It is mind baffling to me that satan would choose to rebel! I think that should be the real question here. So I am changing the question to put a different spin on it.

This is my 2 part question:

Why would satan rebel? What was he possibly thinking?

The best answer I have is PRIDE PRIDE AND PRIDE! Let's keep our focus on Christ and stop trying to answer things we simply don't have answers for. Also.. satan did not fall from heaven.. God pushed him out!

Blessings, Carla
I agree with you Carla. Too much focus on the wrong thing. I fell in the trap I had been so good at avoiding for so long. Yet here I am again. Not everyone has to agree with me and I don't have to agree with any one in particular. If I can get along with Universalists and other non Christians why is it so easy to butt heads with the brethren? I do not like to be argumentative and I am uncomfortable with confrontation from other Christians and those in my family. Call me what you will but if I don't know something I would rather ask someone educated in that given field. The best learners are the ones who sit with the learned with a shut mouth and opened Bible.
Amen Terry.. and our best teacher is the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth..
I too have fallen prey to involving myself in discussions which I regretted. God is sure patient and merciful with me. Praise Him! Well bro.. we Stand in Christ's Strength ..and persevere... eyes on Christ. :)

In His Love, Carla
Amen Charles! Isn't it great training on this site that we are receiving.
