All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

with all the problems in this world, a Christian has to wonder why did this happen? or what did i do to deserve this? God of course has every situation in His control and we are not meant to understand His reasoning. but our inquisitive natures want an answer.

what if you could ask God just one question? what would that question be? would it be about a sick loved one? money? bad people?

i think my question would be, "why did the Holocaust have to happen?"

what would you ask? i'm anxious to see how you will answer this.

Why does God allow a 94  year old woman who is bedridden with dementia to live on and yet take a 42 year old man who never drank or smoked and who died with a heart attack leaving a wife and 2 children.

Janet,

From the outset, this sounds horrible.  It sounds unfair.  Please remember, it was never God who ordained that we should die at all.  The only death that God desires is that we 'die to self' and live for Him so that we may be His disciple.

Sin is the thing that brought death into the world.

Romans 8

20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children,[j] including the new bodies he has promised us. 24 We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope[k] for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)

God hasn't stood by and done nothing.  He sent Jesus to live, suffer, die and live again to defeat death and sin.  When we are safe in Him, we know that allthough physical death will come to each of us, Spiritually we will live Eternally with our Lord.  That's good news.

The death and 'upsidedownness' of all of Creation, and how God intended things to be has moved God into action.

We look at these circumstances and we say 'I don't understand'..  God doesn't promise an explanation...but He does require that we trust Him.  He knows best.  As we invest the time into knowing God's character, these questions become less frequent.  We will always be deeply saddened by the loss of human life here on earth.  Particularly if it is a young life.

Romans 8:28 says 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together[m] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. NLT

proverbs 3:5,6 says

 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

This applies to everything.  We try to understand things according to our own understanding...when we do this it leaves us in a place of discouragement, fatigue, frustration...  That's not a nice place to be.  We all have been there.  We must learn to trust in the Lord with all our heart....and not depend on our own understanding.

***I've used the NLT because it is an easy to read translation.

Bless you Janet.

The Lord's Peace on you.

Carla

Thank you Carla.  I must learn to trust in the Lord more and not on my own understanding, although sometimes it is very hard.  My husband and I moved to Spain in 2007 for his health and in 2009 he passed away.   I know why the Lord brought us here because although I was a Christian I had lost my way but shortly after joining a church here, I was born again, PTL.  Also my husband accepted the Lord into his life a few days before he passed away which made me very happy.   But in a way I still don't understand why my husband had to die.  Probably feeling a bit down as yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of his passing and I know he is in a better place but I miss him.

I'm so sorry Janet.  I can understand why you would be feeling down.

Of coarse that's a natural response.

In those times it's easy to forget to bring those sadnesses to our Lord.  He cares for you, and He wants you to come to Him with all of those heartbreaks.  Bless you.. The Lord is with you, it may not be much comfort right now, but you can rest in the truth that you will see your husband again.

Bless you.. (((hugs)))

Dear Janet,

I know nothing can take away the pain of your loss and all we can really do for one another is offer comfort and encouragement. My youngest sister lost her husband on May 4, 2007. He had heart failure. It was a sudden death. He was 42. She is a young widow, too, raising two children. I tell her all the time, Take care of you. Those kids need her. I know God can take it when we vent our deepst feelings...our deepest pain. Then He wraps us up in His love...if we will accept the offer. Sometimes anger keeps us from accepting it. It's still there though. I feel His love from time to time myself...inspite of all the anger and frustration I often have for the pain in this life. May you rest in the shelter of God's love.

James,

I hope you return to AAG.  I went to your page and saw that you have left.  I'm sure you've heard this verse before...  But I want you to hear it again.

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord." Romans 8:38,39

Even though you can't see it right now, as a born again believer, nothing can ever separate you from God's Love.  Your feelings can't separate you from His Love either.  Your struggles can't separate you from God.  Your trials can't separate you from God's Love.  You may have trouble believing that.  I'm sorry to hear that.  It is still truth.  Nothing can ever separate you from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  You may even go so far as to say 'Why did God create me the way I am?'  God loves you.  The only thing HE sees wrong with you is the same thing He sees wrong with all of humanity....  That's sin.  He sent Jesus to die for you just the same as He sent Jesus to die for all of us.  You're included in that.  We all have trials James... each one of us.  You probably wouldn't want my trials....  Just as I wouldn't want someone else's.

The thing we must all learn is to keep our eyes on Jesus...not on our trials.  God Loves you James.  Nothing can ever separate you from His Love.

Blessings, Carla

hey carla

i'm sorry to see james leave aaG. i think we encouraged him as best we could. he has a low opinion of himself so i pray God will show him just how valuable he is as a child of God.

God bless,

marty

Yes Marty,  I think so.

We can continue to pray for James.

James, if you're still reading this..  We'd love to see you come back.

Blessings, Carla

God is in control. I really like James and I know about many of the challenges he faces each day. Forbearing one another in love (Ephesians 4:2) is about patiently making allowances for the weaknesses and faults of others. We all have faults and need healing. We all have sins and need prayers. We all must help each other.

Hello, I know James pretty well, He has Autism/Aspergers Syndrome. He cant see things as we do, he has a hard road ahead of him. hes been my friend for 10 years now. I'm in the process of helping him, and please people understand his life is complex. he needs our understanding and love. James is a very loving and compassionate person that does love God! And David, don't tell him he shouldn't research, he don't all to much. But isn't it good for Christians too research to expose things of Satans! If we ant as like it says in the Bible. Be meek as a dove, but as wise as serpents. So I think James is doing a very admiral thing, in researching what he does, for the Church has too be as wise as serpents too stop Satan in his tracts! But please be understanding of him, he has Autism like I said.

God Bless,

                   CW

thank you so much for insight of james. he'll be in our prayers. bless you!

CW -

Thank you for caring for James as you do. God will richly bless you for it.

Love and blessings to you.
