Judges 4:23-24

KJV ²³ So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel. ²⁴ And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

 

23 God allow him to be weak so that Israel could grow in strength and become closer to the Lord and dependent on Him, rather then the own power. The strength He gave Israel was in Him. The Canaanites were shown that Israel has God who backs them and they can not be defeated as long as they are following Him, they saw the Lord as ust another powerful god though.

 

24 They drew closer and closer to the Lord and trusted in Him, if our strength is in something other then Him it will fall. They ended up winning the battle and finishing the war, when we follow the Lord not only will we make it thru the war but we come out winners, even though we may lose some battles.
