Josh 6:26-27
Joshua 6:26-27 KJV 26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it. 27 So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

6:26 At that time Joshua made them take this oath before Yahweh: Accursed before Yahweh be the man who rises up and rebuilds this city (Jericho)! On his first-born will he lay its foundations, on his youngest son set up its gates! |
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
26 Joshua did not want this city to be rebuilt and was asking the Lord to make an example out anyone who did by taking their heir and another son, this is a lost that would have prevented anybody who followed the Lord to rebuild this city but those who don’t follow the Lord would have a lose for them trying to rebuild the city.
27 Joshua became known as a great solider and leader. Thru Joshua the fear of the Lord would spread. God used Joshua to begin victory for Israel. People knew not to mess with Joshua because God was with him.
