All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Joshua 6:22-25 King James Version (KJV)

22 But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.

23 And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.

24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the Lord.

25 And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

The New Jerusalem Bible

Joshua 6:22-25

6:22 Joshua said to the two men who had reconnoitred the country, 'Go into the prostitute's house, and bring the woman out with all who belong to her, as you swore to her that you would.'
6:23 The young men who had been spies went and brought Rahab out, with her father and mother and brothers and all who belonged to her. They brought out all her clansmen too, and put them in a place of safety outside the camp of Israel.
6:24 They burned the city and everything inside it, except the silver, the gold and the things of bronze and iron; these they put into the treasury of Yahweh's house.
6:25 But Rahab the prostitute, her father's family and all who belonged to her, these Joshua spared. She is still living in Israel even today, for having hidden the messengers whom Joshua sent to reconnoitre Jericho.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

22 Joshua wanted to make sure they kept their promise, God always keeps His promises to us, she was saved because she showed faith in the Lord by hiding the men.

23 The men were the ones that went to get her so that she knew she could trust them; she was taken outside the camp in case the camp was attacked. When God saves us He wants to protect us but often we go back to the camp of this world which causes bad things to happen to us.

24 So the things of value they gave to the Lord everything else was destroyed, this was what God’s plan was for them to do, one God will destroy the entire world because they leave in rebellion.

25 King David and later Jesus would be descendents of Rehab. Sometimes having faith and showing it makes a world of difference it had with Rehab.
