All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I need some Christian advice.  This is very important and I want to do the right thing.  If you are familiar with my problems, I am married and my husband is addicted to drugs.  For the past 8 months, he has been staying gone all night, lying, etc.  Well he has a friend, who has hepatitus and is single.  Last week, I found some condoms in my husband's work shop where he and his friends hang out.  We had a confrontation and he moved some of this things out of the house, but has never spent one night away.  He swore on the Bible and my sons life that they are not his, that they belong to the friend.  My heart wants to believe him, but my common sense tells me not to.  I have made an appointment to see an attorney for divorce.  My husband says he does not want a divorce and that he will try to stop the drugs and his late night activities.  What should I do?  Please pray for us!  And my children as well.  We have three, ages 15,13, and 10.

Oh my dear sister, my heart aches for you. Divorce is an ugly, painful choice; but if your husband stays with you, you may be facing many risks besides infidelity. You and your children could become the victims of legal entanglements, disease, physical danger, and demonic activity, through your husband and his associates. An attorney could help you get a legal separation, an order of protection, and supervised visitation rights for your husband that would give you some protections, and that would give your husband some time to repent. Through these dark times, remember that the LORD will be your covering, and He will provision all of your needs. Seek the prayers of all the Christians that you know, and ask your husband if he would undergo pastoral counseling.
Thank you for your advice Michael. I have thought of all of the things that you have mentioned in your post. My heart is torn because I want so much for this terrible mess to end and for our lives to be normal... If someone asks you for forgiveness and to give them another chance, aren't you supposed to do that? If someone tells you a lie and deliberately hurts you, aren't you supposed to pray for them? Doesn't God hate divorce, and is reconciliation not what the Bible instructs you to do? As you can see from my words, I do not want a divorce, but I do want my life to be normal. He says he will try to do better. As for pastoral counseling, he says maybe in the future but he doesn't feel ready right now. He says he is not the monster that I have made him out to be. Please keep me in your prayers, I know God is the only one that can pull us out of this mess. I need him so much!!!
Beloved sister,

I have been meditating on your predicament and I truly believe that the fact that what I am guided to tell you concurs with what sister Michael and sister Linda have advised you, is confirmation of what the Lord would guide you to do at this point in time.

I took some time to go back and read previous exchanges and have a couple of questions for you, but first let me remind you of things already said to you.

Littlesheep said this to you a few months back:

"I realized just a few days ago that I was doing this. I was running to church to see what God wanted to say to me that day from the mouth of His minister. I was running to Christian television to hear what God wanted to do in my life. I was surfing the web reading ministers comments about what I should do with my life when the whole time God was with me, on the inside of me. Guiding me. I just couldn't hear Him."

when I reminded you of what Littlesheep had written you responded with this:

"Something that I did read in your post was what Littlesheep said to me about running to church to see what God wanted to say to me, and Christian television, and surfing the web, I DO THIS! I am so afraid that I won't hear God! I am not sure that I have the knowledge to know when he is speaking to me."

Then I wrote you this note:

You are seeking God as never before now. Great!!!! Beautiful!!!! Run to him and do not listen to the liar that is throwing condemnations to you, by telling you “be afraid, you won't hear God! You don’t even know when He is speaking to you. You can not be the person that your husband needs nor do you know the words that he needs to hear to make a difference in his life!
BY THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES CHILD OF GOD, I TELL YOU, WITH THE AUTHORITY GIVEN TO THE CHILDREN OF THE LORD, I TELL YOU, DO NOT LISTEN TO THOSE LIES, BUT LISTEN TO YOUR FAITHFUL AND LOVING FATHER. WHAT SATAN HAS BROUGHT INTO YOUR HOME TO DESTROY, THE LORD WILL TURN AROUND FOR HIS GLORY. Get in the word and be more excited about hearing Him than us and He will speak to you through His word

Questions:

1. Have you been able to establish a relationship with the Lord through the study/prayer/worship/meditation of His word?

2. Did you ever talk with the local Pastor about this whole ordeal? Are you fellowshipping?

3. You know you need God more than anything and anyone else, are you running to Him?

4. What is God telling you to do?

Love you sis and remain praying for you and your family.
Dear sis. God is about unity to divorce is not the answer that's saying God is not able to deliver we must remember who is behind his action and know that his soul is important

This will a great testimony for you both
May God bless you sis.
Denise,

You have the option to separate (not talking about divorce here) for a time and allow God to be God in your life. I know the following it's difficult to hear, but it’s true.

Your problems, this issue, this predicament - posts no challenge to our god who is so above us (in power, majesty and holiness), so above that we miss it, we miss how majestic He really is, because our finite minds can't grasp it. That God, loves you! He longs for a relationship with you. He loves to do amazing things in our lives, so we can testify of his goodness and fall in love with Him. We serve a good God.

Most folks think he does not care because he is all powerful and able to do anything, but what he says he cannot do. He cannot sin. He does love to be good to us.

But we must believe and obey. His word says fellowship, well then, fellowship, his word says abide in me, well abide in him through prayer/study and worship etc...

Listen, listen sis -

HE IS WAITING ON YOU, ON US TO BE OBEDIENT - OHHH HALLELUJAH

WHEN WE FINALLY GET IT AND OBEY, THEN WE SEE HIS MIGHTY HAND.Not that His mighty hand has not been there for us, but Spiritual things must be decern Spiritually. EVEN NOW SIS, HE IS KEEPING YOU. EVEN NOW HE IS PROTECTING YOUR FAMILY. HE LOVES YOU - OBEY HIM.

ONCE WE DO THAT, IS ON!!!-

HE IS SO AMAZING THAT HE IS DEALING WITH ALMOST 7 BILLION FOLKS AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT BREAKING A SWEAT.

My Lord Bless you friend.
I have been with my husband for 9 years. We have 4 children who craved his attention but chose to do drugs also. I kicked him out and told him to go do all the drugs he wants and to find another wife who will be okay with him using. He was only gone for a month and turned to Jesus and then enrolled into teen challenge(it is in MN). It is a program for people to meet Jesus and to recover from using drugs. I will pray for you and your children! Be strong in the Lord!

Addictions are hard to overcome without Jesus, he needs help....I will pray for him also!
Denise,

The program sis Tonya mentioned is an excellent program. In my opinion the best one out there. Teen Challenge is Christ Centered. Google it and find out if there is one close to your home.

They have an incredible success rate because is All about God with them and practical advice on day to day living free of drugs.

God is able and willing to help us. Some may think He does not care about our predicament, because He is all powerful and seems to be silent through our struggles, but He is not being silent. We are not able to see all that He is doing even now through your situation, but He is there protecting you and your family. God cares. Do what He asks of you and you will see Him clearly.

Love you sister.
