hello felix, your question concerning fasting. you must look at it in a biblical perspective. in Old and new testament times the amount of food a person consumed is much less than what we eat today. the rich ate well. ease your way into it by eating less and less everyday before the fast and make sure you are drinking lots of water. than ease away from that and start your fast. dont make the alteration from food to no food too rapidely. Don't take too long to jump into the fast aswell. in biblical times they ate less, so a fast wasn't as risky; without having a negative effect on the body. Start eating a leaner diet, and then seriously considering fasting. There is no doctinal teaching the is stated dirctly in the scriptures, just examples. They would definately have a time frame planned out in order to prepare for it. Also in israel they still fast. Look up some Jews and ask them. ask them what they do about going about fasting. Love ya brother.. Ryan
hi
Felix , i am glad i got to learn a lot about of fasting through you , but remember GOD always shows A WAY just go ahead and he will lead you.
For me when I fast, I usually only eat vegetables and drink water. Even then my intake is limited. I have to eat with my medications or they will cause stomach problems. Generally, I can go without food for a couple days. Fasting clears the body of unwanted pollutants. People, especially in America, walk around with toxic bodies. We ingest so much processed food that our systems can't handle it and sickness and disease is the result.

Fasting is healthy for you. Today I am fasting for 24 hours. No food, just liquids. But I'm also incorporating prayer with that as I am praying for the healing of my father's heart. He has need of a physical healing. I believe that you win God's favor when you show your faith and put "legs" on your prayers. Actions speak louder than words. You can say to our Father that you want something, this or that. But until you show Him that you're will to sacrifice for it, prayers often go unanswered. If you have access to books Jentezen Franklin has written a book called "Fasting". I recommend it. It covers many benefits of fasting and the "how-to's".
thank you pamela, my dear!
Why do we need to fast? I mean God doesn't want us to starve. i don't understand.
When I started to fast, a good friend and brother told me to read Isaiah 58.
