Awsom comment this is what sharing is all about from our heart
Awesome response. I walk through this life guided by my Heavenly Father. It is him I focus on. The world trys to push us away from him. If we stay in his word. If our days are filled every moment with Love for all of our Brothers and Sisters. If hate is a word left in the books of our past. We can be Godly in an ungodly world. We will not live the life God meant us to live if we dwell upon poisonous thoughts. God seeks us. All of us. The choice is ours to make. It really is that simple.
Thank you brother

By the strength of the Lord and staying in His presense! Being submissive and obedient to God's Word.

Praise God that He plants the desire in us to please Him!

I Love the verse Isaiah 40:31...

Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

Love in Christ, Carla

Bob,

There are many positive approaches to the question. I will add 5 things to this thread:

We are to focus, submit, be filled, put on and take up daily as the Bible instructs:

Focus:
MT 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

COL 3:1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

HEB 3:1 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.

HEB 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Submit:
JAS 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

RO 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Be Filled
EPH 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

Put On
EPH 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.... (and the reast of chapter 6 relating to the Armor of God).

Take Up
MT 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Lord Bless,

Amen LT! ..once again, an excellent post!

By walking with Jesus moment by moment. Understanding and being open to my sin on a minute by minute basis. Praying and meditating on his word. Loving the sinner, but hating the sin. I am committed to a bowling team one night a week. It is very difficult to stomache the foul language and talk of sex all around me. The other night, I just came home and cried my heart out because I am so sensitive to sin, now that I am trying to recognise any of it surfacing in my daily walk. It just makes me sick to my stomach, I want to throw up. I can't watch t.v. without scenes of sex , the message that being gay is ok, even on the news. I have hardly watched it for going on 15 years now because of the filfth. It is rare when I turn it on.

One thing I do realize is how I look at people now, as a true Christian. I see them through eyes of compassion and feel llke mourning for their souls, especially the ones who by their life, it is easy to see the relationship with Christ just isnt there. I pray for them and remember when I was in the world as a hater of God, a person who sinned without being sorry, a lost soul going to Hell. Now, it breaks my heart because I know if they don't turn from their sin, they are headed for eternal torment in Hell.

On the way to work, during work and on the way home, I listen to sermon tapes and worship music to keep me connected with God and separated from the world, even though I must work in it. There are those rare but special times, when a customer who is a christian will recognise that I am and we will fellowship.

Also, the most important thing is that I constantly reflect the image of Christ. I need to be on guard to always tell the truth, be gentle to others, and know that my character is supposed to reflect Christ's character, so it is important to remember this whenever I am around ungodly people in an ungodly world. Sometimes, the only witness is the way I present my life to others and if they understand I am a Christian and I act like a child of God, this may draw them to the Lord and salvation.

It's tough sometimes and lonely, because I feel like an alien at times, because I cannot and dont' join in the chatter with some of my business aquaintances, who talk filfthy and about wordly things. I have nothing in common with their life apart from working with them. I want to talk about God and eveything about being a christian, but work is not the place to fellowship. I wish I wouldnt be here 10 hours a day, but then maybe I am the only one who could represent Jesus to some peopole.
Hi There Donnahoo.. I read your beautiful response here which I think so many of us relate to, then I went back to my email, and read this from the 'Institute for Creation Research'....confirmation for how we are to live in godly in an ungodly world.

The Christian's Speech
February 7, 2009

"Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." (Colossians 4:6)

A Christian's words are of transcendent importance, for Jesus has said: "Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment" (Matthew 12:36). The word "answer" in the text above means more than simply an answer to a question. The Greek word is used 250 times in the New Testament, and in every other instance, it is used in a simple narrative sense (such as, "he answered saying"). Thus it refers to ordinary conversation, indicating that every verbal response of a Christian should be gracious and tasteful--never crude, or hurtful, or bland.

The Scriptures include many other specifications for a Christian's speech. In the first place, there should not be too much of it! "Study to be quiet, and to do your own business" (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Our words should be carefully chosen, able to be substantiated--"Sound speech, that cannot be condemned" (Titus 2:8). People should be able to rely on the truth of what we say. "Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour" (Ephesians 4:25). Furthermore, "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers" (Ephesians 4:29). "But who ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth" (Colossians 3:8). Our words should always be edifying and helpful, wholesome and thoughtful.

But if this seems humanly impossible, remember God is able to tame our tongues, even though we cannot! The key is prayer--earnest and consistent prayer--not just that our speech become innocuous, but that it may edify, testify, and minister grace. HMM
