All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

.. Heaven is for Real?

If not, I highly recommend it, it really really changed my thinking on SO many things, I see God in  different light and I do not have the same fear of death that I have had for years.

I loaned it to my oldest daughter (almost 14) who just loved it!! I think this is a must for anybody with many fears, or for those who just need to see God for who He really is.

I am currently lending it to a very good friend.

My daughter goes on to high school next school year, I am going to donate one of these books to the middle school library.

I hope that I have not overstepped any boundaries by telling you about this book, I know that there are certain rules that one has to abide by for most websites like this.

Hi Texanbrit,  I'm reading it presently.  It's hard to put down..

Blessings, Carla

Isn't it though, I read it in one evening, stayed up until the early hours of the morning... And I'm not quick reader!!
Yes.  it's a very real family..  I also love how they don't withhold their problems, but share them openly.  I am very encouraged reading it.  I'll let you know when I've finished it. :-)

Hi, I only got to know about this book in December last year. A friend told me about it and I ordered it immediately. Reading it  gave me a picture of heaven from a child's point of view , having read Heaven is real   by Chu Thomas.  I think it is a place I want to be one day.  The simplicity of it gives me a true picture of who God is... He is simple and close by us all the way.  I know now why one has to be like a 'child' to enter the kindom of heaven.  A child tells things as they, without exaggeration.  Heaven is truely FOR REAL!

God bless.

Oh noes.  Right away warning bells sounded for me here, before I even saw who the author was.  Spiritual books often are *riveting* and highly "enjoyable" reads.  I know this personally, as before I became a Christian I read a book on astral projection which at the time I believed to be the best book I had ever read.  Of course I'd think that though, because I didn't know God and the book appealed to my desires.

The main point I want to make is that even the fallen angels know heaven, and they can either take people to places like heaven, or even give a person an illusory (but otherwise very vivid experience) of heaven.  I'm extremely sceptical of almost anyone who speaks of having been to/seen heaven, and I would only trust the greatest of Christians regarding this, and "with a pinch of a salt" even at that.  satan can deceive even christians regarding such things, and it's very easy to fall into mysticism, or love of angels or love of things other than God, thus distancing a person from worship of God and his will.

To a degree I believe Christians *should* fear death, but not morbidly.  Being committed to God and seeking his will in a person's life should come first, and if a person develops a close relationship with God (rather than knowledge or promises of reward), then a fear of death or disobedience to God will cease to be something at the front of a person's mind or of too much concern.

No, I haven't..I saw it one day in the book store but I had no budget to buy, but now I will ..Thanks sister :) God bless you and your family :)

Question is the Book, called Bible Illuminated, The Book New Testament???

Hi Manasseh,

The book is called:

Heaven is for Real?  It's written by Todd Burpo.

I agree to read these types of bookes with great caution.  I read it, It's an interesting read...but the word of caution is to not become consumed with something like this...  It could happen easily.

When Jesus does return, the thingswe must be consumed with is Kingdom work...  Ministering to the broken world.   Working for Justice and Loving Mercy, and walking in Humbly with God.  Finally, evangelizing the lost.

We don't really need this book to tell us heaven is real..  We have the testimony of Christ, and that is far more believable than any testimony that may come from anyone else.

I did enjoy the book.... just read it with caution.  Once you are done reading it... put it down and get back to work. :-)

Blessings, Carla

Hmm, seems like I misread too, but everything I said still applies.  I don't trust Chu Thomas, but Todd Burpo I've not heard of.  I think it's wise to be ultra-cautious of any Christian book not written by a renowned Christian (i.e. great christians from the past), especially any book that's talking about spiritual things like heaven or the spiritual realm.  There are so few good Christian books available these days and it's wiser to rely on good Christian fellowship.

Hey Carla, nice to meet you. Well I'm careful on this also, there is another book out there, called The Book,  it has a Occult symbol on it, partly of the Sun disk of Egypt. And it claims all good form the New Testament. I'm staying away form both these books! God has given me a unique gift, to discern things and discerning Ancient Mysteries, that's why too I use the name Manasseh, it means I'm freed form the Bondage, meaning Egypt. For Christ has shown me the way out to be serve and honor him! Hey Carla if you havent, go read my Topic form last week on Joseph and Asenath. Its called The Lifes And Times Of Asenath And Joseph too Moses of Exadus.

Blessings, Manasseh
