God's Wonderful Works

Psa 8:3,4 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?

I think I have told you how much I enjoy nature. I have a "Game Reserve" (artificial animals that look almost real) and close to the house we have a bird feeder, and several more a little further away. One day the sky grew dark, and the wind began to blow. And within arms length, a sparrow took refuge on the windowsill outside, just two feet away. It cocked it's head and took a good look at me, and I guess it decided I wasn't a threat. I called hubby and we saw this cocky little fellow looking at us as if we were "his family"...

When I observe God's creations, I can't help but echo the Psalmist's words, "O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions!"(Psa 104:24)

Once (my son) a little boy didn't want to go on the science field trip, because science was so boring. They were going to climb around on some rocks and look for fossils of animals which died long ago. Woopee! Nothing could interest him any less.

However, an amazing thing happened! Wouldn't you know it, he was one of the first to find a fossilized remains. He told us that he held the rock in his hands, and traced the fragile baby lizard fossil with his finger. Yes, he was captivated by the sight, and a new love was born in his heart. He was the centre of attraction! That little boy, on that day, saw the earth as a treasure house of wonders, too magnificent for him to fully understand. And science became his favourite subject!

"Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered."(Psa 40:5)

About thirty minutes ago, I touched the surface of the water in our Koi fishponds. Immediately, several Koi fish came up and nudged the end of my finger. They used to be shy, but not any more, they recognize the hand that feeds them. I believe that Koi fish can smell and "hear" - so, like with my Corgi dogs, I talk to them... (smile)

My friends, take time to study this wonderful world of ours. There is so much to behold. God has done so many wonderful things, and He has given them over to us to enjoy. Search out the riches of God's world, and you'll never be poor.

Lift your hands and say to your Heavenly Father, "You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You."(Neh 9:6)

"Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered."(Psa 40:5)

"Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!"(Psa 107:31)

Now my friend, "as for me, I would seek God, and to God I would commit my cause; who does great things, and unsearchable, marvelous things without number. He gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields. He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety."(Job 5:8-11)

Let us praise God to eternity!!!!
