All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Romans 6 from verse 12 , present yourself unto God as alive from the dead , and to not present our members as instruments of unrighteousness.  How can one present oneself when one cant even consider forgiving oneself, ... forgive others, one understands that but to forgive oneself tis a tough one ! any advice !

You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you.
~ Psalm 86:5

You are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger
and abounding in steadfast love.
~ Nehemiah 9:17

Christine + Aslan,

I found several articles online on this subject.  I'll share three with you.  The upshot of all three is that when you put your faith in God, repent and ask him for his forgiveness of your sins, they are covered by the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

An article posted by AAG says:  "Forgiving yourself is essential. ... Forgiving yourself is not specifically addressed in the Bible, but there are principles regarding forgiveness that should be applied."  You can read more here: [ http://www.allaboutgod.com/forgiving-yourself.htm ].

GotQuestions.org also answers your question: " Never does the Bible talk about the idea of  'forgiving yourself.'  We are told to forgive others when they trespass against us and seek forgiveness. When we ask for God’s forgiveness based upon Christ having already paid for our sins and our having trusted in Him as Savior and Lord, He forgives us. It is as simple as that (1 John 1:9)."  For the entire article go here: [ http://www.gotquestions.org/forgiving-yourself.html ].

CARM.0rg, another apologetics site, says this: "To seek forgiveness from yourself would be to ask yourself to forgive you for what you've done against yourself. But this doesn't make any sense. We are not the ones who make moral laws that we can break. Rather, God does that, so forgiving yourself just doesn’t make sense. ...  It is not an issue of you forgiving yourself. The issue is whether or not God forgives you. So, go to the cross and know that Jesus has already forgiven you, loves you, and will receive you to himself."  [ http://carm.org/questions/other-questions/it-biblical-forgive-ourse... ]

All glory forever and ever to God who supplies all we need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus,
