Esther 6:5-6 King James Version (KJV)

And the king's servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.

So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?

The New Jerusalem Bible

Esther 6:5-6

6:5 So the king's gentlemen-in-waiting replied, 'It is Haman out in the antechamber.' 'Bring him in,' the king said,
6:6 and, as soon as Haman came in, went on to ask, 'What is the right way to treat a man whom the king wishes to honour?' 'Whom', thought Haman, 'would the king wish to honour, if not me?'

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

5 Haman was standing in the court to wait to speak to the king about hanging Mordecai. The king was at this time thinking of how he should reward Mordecai. Esther was trying to see whether the king had more favor for her than Haman and Haman was thinking he was the queen’s and king’s favorite person.

6 Haman had arrogant attitude. Haman thought that the king would king a whole race because Haman asked him to. Haman thought that king favored him. Haman could not see anyone else worth being honored, the reason Haman first started to hate Mordecai was because did not show him honor, he is not king Mordecai show have not had to show him honor, he was not royalty even if he tried to carry himself that way.
