Esther 5:13-14

KJV 13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. 14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

The New Jerusalem Bible

Esther 5:13-14

5:13 But what do I care about all this when all the while I see Mordecai the Jew sitting there at the Chancellery?'
5:14 'Have a fifty-cubit gallows run up,' said Zeresh his wife and all his friends, 'and in the morning ask the king to have Mordecai hanged on it. Then you can go with the king to the banquet, without a care in the world!' Delighted with this advice, Haman had the gallows erected.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

13 He had developed a strong hatred for Mordecai which he would reflect on all Jews he had started to develop hate for all Jews because of his hate for Mordecai. It was become the point to where for him having Mordecai dead was not enough but all his people had to die as well. Most of them time we have hate within our hearts we can not enjoy the great things that happen in our lives.

14 They came up with this, the gallows being high shows that they could been seen far off. He would ask for Mordecai’s death this is something he wanted more then the kings favor. We live sometimes in a way that shows we want something more than our Kings favor but His favor is what we should be living for.
