Esther 5:5-8 King James Version (KJV)

Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

5 The king listens to his queen this is only because it was God’s will this was very uncommon but showed that God allowed Esther to gain favor with the king. Haman was about to lose his favor because of the queen.

6 He was willing to give her half of his kingdom if she asked it of him, this shows that what she wanted she would get she asked for.

7-8 so is Esther makes it seem like she has favor for Haman because of her having him keep coming to a banquet she prepares but that is far from what is happening, she is making sure she has more favor of the king then Haman does which she needs to know before she can ask the king because Haman was her problem because of his hatred to the Jewish people, her people, which is not known to the king or Haman yet.
