All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I love God so much. i ask Him to make me see sin as He does because He cannot stand it. Can you say you are living a holy life if there is that one act of sin you haven't stopped? I do not like to admit this but i sometimes try to justify it and say " maybe if it is like this it will not be much of a sin" but who am i fooling? i know deep in my heart that it is wrong i the eyes of God but it is so hard to leave it. I know i cannot do it on my own which is why i ask God to help me. What happens then if a born again follower of Christ sins? how do i make it right? how do i reverse God's anger? What do i do from now?

Dear Sister

Here's a link to a devotional article on Habitual Sin.

All you need to do to be forgiven of sin and be cleansed from unrighteousness is found in the verse 1 John 1:9.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 NAS)

Ask of God for forgiveness and repent. Seek His help to be rid of the habit. Our God is faithful to forgive when we earnestly seek Him, and He will guide us in our walk.

God bless.

Thank you, i have been looking at a whole lot of postings in this link you gave me and they make a whole lot of difference.

Zee,

We all sin. Sin is our nature. Jesus died once for all sin, of everyone.....past, present, future. If you have accepted Christ, His death is for all your sins....past, present, future. Yes, you should strive to live holy as Christ is Holy....but....sometimes that isn't so easy. God has already forgiven you. So, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try to turn from whatever you're doing that is sinful.

Many of us have habitual sins. They are hard to leave...but we keep trying. Will we be able to? Maybe yes and maybe no, but we keep fighting.

We as Christians should all live with no sin in our lives. We all fail, but we keep on trying for that perfect life. Focus on Christ. He is your salvation. Keep your eye on Him. Try to view others as Jesus viewed them....with love in your heart.

Blessings to you, Zee.

Rita

in response to "we all sin", in the back of my mind i know that we all sin as the holy word says that we should repent everyday even for the sins we do not know we committed because as people we are living in this sinful world and we may not always be concsious of our sinful acts. But then again i always thought that this is only for the sins we are not aware of. In some cases, you are aware but still engage in that act.

Thank you for letting me know that i am not the only one who finds it hard to leave sin but trying will evetually make me succeed.

God bless you

Dear Zee,

The question you ask is not hard at all. If you've asked Jesus to save you, then ask God to baptize you in the Holy Spirit. This precious baptism will lead you and guide you into all truth and give you the power to overcome any sin. The HS may deliver you instantly or He may take you through a process to teach you how this sin took control of your life. Just put it in His hands, pray and listen to what the HS tells you to do. It is very important to learn to be still and listen. You will then find out how much the Lord loves you and is answering you day by day. If you are saved, should you sin in any form, simply confess your sin to the Father and the blood of Jesus will cover your transgression. Next, go on and keep growing in the Word and the day will come when the sin has no more control over you. As human beings we will always sin in one form or another, but the pattern or sinful strongholds will be broken. Have you read your New Test. yet? You will find many verses about how God delivers us from sin. He will replace your stronghold with new desires to serve Him. One day you will help others get free of the stronghold you are dealing with now. God Bless you as you grow in Jesus!

Hi sister Jane

Like Paul thought he was the worst sinner of them all but God ended up wanting him to preach the Gospel, i sometimes think i am so bad that i am beyond salvation but i know that with God all is possible and no sin is ever bigger than the other or bigger than Him.

Thank you for reminding me that He hears my prayers and answers them day by day.
