All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Being a genuine Christian means to exhibit the character of Chris and, thus, to be treated as He was treated. When we move into the world with Christ like character, the world will react to us the way it reacted to Him.

Still, it is also characteristic of a true disciple of Jesus that he is not afraid of the world. Matthew 10:28 "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

There is no reason to be afraid, because, as a follower of Jesus, you know you will happily trade whatever perils you face in this world for the riches of your reward in the eternal world to come.

Thank you for posting this topic.  Let us all think about what it means to be a Christ follower.

Being a genuine Christian means to exhibit the character of Christ.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING

  • 1 John 3:23  And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ,
and to love one another as he commanded us.
  • Luke 6:31  Do to others as you would have them do to you.
  • 1 Corinthians 11:1  Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
  • Romans 12:18  If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
  • 1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an
answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect.
  • Philippians 2:3  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility
    consider others better than yourselves.
  • Philippians 1:27  Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the
    gospel of Christ.
  • James 4:17  Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.
