All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Now here is something to "Sleep On"

There are many Christians who are emphatic about being buried rather than cremated.
There is no advice in the Bible regarding this subject.
Some are afraid and openly say, that if you get cremated, then your entire body, bones and all are turned to dust and that would be the end to your existence. Others say it is a Heathen custom and God would frown on a Christian wanting to be cremated.

So brothers and sisters of AAG, I throw this open for your words of wisdom. As for myself I know what I would choose.

Hello dear brother...

Gen 3:19 All your life you will sweat to produce food, until your dying day. Then you will return to the ground from which you came. For you were made from dust, and to the dust you will return."

hmmm... I have chosen cremation personally...
It doesn't matter where I am buried..I'll be home and I'll be free!

...looking forward to hearing what others have to say

Much Love in Christ, Carla
Diddo Carla,,, I am working diligently to make Heaven my home. Cremation is cheaper, but either way my family chooses to take care of my funeral will have no bearing on my soul being destroyed. We have to work on that long before Funeral arrangements are needed. Love you all so much. Your such a blessing.
Debra
What about all the Christians who have been burned to death for their testimony of Christ? Are they saying that our Awesome God can't create man from dust and breath life into him?
Hey Ron,

I have no problem with cremation. When I am done with the body it is of no use to me. If God needs the particles of my body to change into the new body I believe the God who created the universe can find them without any problem. A food for thought, as it takes intense heat for a prolonged period to cremate what would we tell the loved ones of a person who died in a fire that produces that type of heat? Or do we refine it to the wilfull choice and not the end result of cremation by accident?

Lord Bless,

My kids asked me this question the other day...  I thought I was steadfast in my decision to be cremated, but now I'm not so sure.  Although, all of the points made here are very good.  I thought I would resurface this discussion as we now have many new members..  I'd love to hear from more people.

Blessings, Carla

I am asking the wife to cremate me when the time comes. I really don't think God cares which method we use, as long as that method doesn't have any cultish meaning for the person that requested it. I am choosing it because is cheaper and once we are dead who cares where the body is at, in my opinion. I will be with my Lord! Hallelujah!!!! Being in a cementary somewhere is only going to give my love ones one more thing to do and I do not want to do that to them.

Hi Dave,

Sometime ago a friend gave me his reason for not being buried.  He was terrified that he would wake up in his grave.

Apparently besides the price this is one of the reasons why some people would rather be cremated.  Brrrrrrr!

What is the group's  feeling about this?  Perhaps we can calm his nerve.

"Warm" Blessings to all.

I don't have a lot of concern about my house once I move out, so the disposal of it is up to my kids. I will be with the Lord. :D
Out of interest, perhaps not relevant but wanted to share: I watched a sermon last night, and the pastor was talking about Lazarus's resurrection. The pastor had been to visit was is alleged to have been Lazurus's tomb and he was describing how it is a cave which then goes way down steps into another cave and this was where he would have been laid. I always imagined him just appearing in the tomb, but he was literally brought forth all that way. How amazing is that?

He was the fist human to fly hahaha hahaha :) J/K

yeah haha the pastor did good impression

I personally don't think it matters whether you are buried or cremated, it is your spirit that goes to Heaven if you know the Lord and hell if you don't. Our bodies are just a shell that God gave us to live in on this earth.

Let me encourage whoever reads this, to turn your life over to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour if you haven't already done so, before you make the decison of Buriel or Cremation.

God bless
