All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Hi all,

I have been praying for my family ( my parents, brother and my would be sis-in-law) to come to Jesus and be saved. It’s an uphill task to be honest and I really do worry a lot for them. Can you direct me to specific verses in the bible that you’ve used for your loved ones in similar situations?

In Christ,

Aditi,

The Bible speaks of prayer with faith. I believe that if you are praying for one's salvation, that prayer is heard and the Holy Spirit will do all He can to woo the person you are praying for, to Christ. Because salvation deals with free will, I know God doesn't force anyone to do anything. You, because of your prayers, have God's attention about this saving of your family. Believe that it will be done as you have asked. Your own life will be further testimony to Christ and His faithfulness.

Blessings to you as you show your family Who Christ is....

Rita

Dear Aditi,

I believe the strongest verse in the Bible regarding God's will  for all to be saved (sadly, that won't happen even though God would like to see it. Just shows that God wants us to come to Him by choice.)

Anyway, 1 Timothy 2:3-4, " This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, (4) who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth". (English Standard Version).

Grace and Peace.

Aditi -

It is good to see you sharing beloved. My father hated to hear anything about the Lord for 75 years of his life and EVERYONE who knows him said that he would never believe or change, for he is a stubborn man with an extremely hard heart. Even my mother, rather especially my mother had given up on him. I kept believing and telling others that his heart posses no challenge for the one that created the heart.

My father came to Christ in 2010. There is nothing or anyone impossible for our Lord. Salvation belongs to the Lord beloved.

"And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: a sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."—Luke 8:4-8.

Spurgeon: The preacher of the gospel is like the sower. He does not make his seed; it is given him by his divine Master. No man could create the smallest grain that ever grew upon the earth, much less the celestial seed of eternal life. The minister goes to his Master in secret, and asks him to teach him his gospel, and thus he fills his basket with the good seed of the kingdom. He then goes forth in his Master's name and scatters precious truth. If he knew where the best soil was to be found, perhaps he might limit himself to that which had been prepared by the plough of conviction; but not knowing men's hearts, it is his business to preach the gospel to every creature—to throw a handful on the hardened heart, and another on the mind which is overgrown with the cares and pleasures of the world. He has to leave the seed in the care of the Lord who gave it to him, for he is not responsible for the harvest, he is only accountable for the care and industry with which he does his work. If no single ear should ever make glad the reaper, the sower will be rewarded by His Master if he had planted the right seed with careful hand. If it were not for this fact with what despairing agony should we utter the cry of Esaias, "Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?" EOQ

Keep believing and praying, do not grow weary of doing the right thing my friend. The rest is up to God.
