All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

The 2011 end times prediction is a prediction made by Christian radio host Harold Camping that the Rapture (in Christian belief, the taking up into heaven of God's elect people) will take place on May 21, 2011[1][2] and that the end of the world as we know it will take place five months later on October 21, 2011.[3] These predictions were made by Camping, president of the Family Radio Christian network, who claims the Bible as his source and says May 21 will be the date of the Rapture and the day of judgment "beyond the shadow of a doubt".[4] His followers claim that around 200 million people (approximately 3% of the world's population) will be raptured.[5]

Camping's predictions have not been embraced by most other Christian groups;[6][7] some have explicitly rejected them.[8][9][10][11] Christianity Today reports that Camping's teachings have "drawn a flurry of attacks, including sermons, a January seminar in New York that drew 70 pastors, and a Web site (www.familyradioiswrong.com)."

Good word Cheryl.  I have actually posted this in a few other places.  It seems that the majority of people are quite annoyed about it, even angry.

I personaly am not afraid of what God will do.  However, Proverbs say's, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

I believe God love's us.  Both my 'hope' and my 'fear' are as follows in these two verses:

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:17-18

Alan, I agree. I know when I speek to my wife about such things it makes her uneasy. I'm not sure why, I think it may be because she worries about those who are not saved.

I think we need to live every moment as if God will be back any minute for us, that way we know we will be ready.

NO one knows the day or the hour God is coming back. God said this in his word, who are you going to listen to? man or God.

gurentee that when may 21 gets here its just going to be an ordinary day. God could come today tomorrow or next year, who knows? no one not even the angles know, but God.

Please don't take this wrong, I'm a skeptic. I'm saying it all with love okay. I mean God I take very seriously, but I don't know about this prophecy. I have some doubts about it. And where did he get this prophecy? If it's from God, shouldn't it flow with Bible verses. It seems to contradict the verse Amanda pointed out Mark 13:32.

Love and God bless,

Mary

I don't know much about Mr. Camping, but when anyone makes this kind of prediction, I just don't trust them.
It was Jesus himself who said noone would know the day...  So if they don't agree with Jesus, I can't agree with them.
Well the point is that we are to be ready at any time.  Even with Noah, if I remember correctly, the door was shut before the rain started and couldn't be reopened.

With Love in Christ,

Judy

Ok...forget about Camping.  Are you ready right now?  Jeus said in the twinkling of an eye.  He also said as the lightning flashes from the east to the west.   I have though of two different meanings for that.....first meaning is that it is ver obvious....2nd is that it happens fast and there is nothing you could do about it. Zap, Bam.

Thank you, Forgiven. Your words are great as well. About you posting the same thing other places, there could be many reasons why people are quite annoyed about or angry with. Ex: 1)They could be angry about Camping's prediction date, 2) They could be annoyed about the rapture being mentioned, 3)They may feel condemned that they themselves are not ready, etc. Whatever the reason may be, let them be. The question is "are you ready". This already gives them something to think about and realize where their life is heading or what they are doing wrong to change for the better.

Everything happens for a reason, just like the scripture you mentioned, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him."

please i hope that this is fantacy. But if it's fantacy it must be an expensive one,so please stop spreading such message.and remember that the bible says that no man knowet the time or hour of his coming not even jesus christ.

obele, we will know if it is a fantasy if we all go to church on Sunday morning as usual.  (:

Cheryl....Amen & Amen.  These posts sure did stir things up.....
