A New Christian is like a tiny, tender green vine...let's not tread them underfoot!
I am writing this mainly to those of us who consider ourselves strong in the faith.
Please remember to be kind and gentle while discussing things of the Lord. Especially if a poster states that they are a new Christian just coming to the faith.
Let's not jump down their throat about some point of doctrine that Bible Scholars have been debating for centuries! Be gentle! Be kind!
The Holy Spirit worked hard to bring this soul around to Christ and I don't think He appreciates having His new tender vine smashed under our 'I know the Bible better than you do' steel-toed boots!
I hope I didn't offend anyone by this post.

1Cr 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
1Cr 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
1Cr 13:3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body [fn] to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
1Cr 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
1Cr 13:5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
1Cr 13:6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
1Cr 13:7 [fn] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1Cr 13:8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of [fn] prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

I just found this post...this poor kid came and left a few months back...
He writes, "Sorry, I was a bit hasty in accepting this invitation and I must withdraw to be fair to Bob the moderator. I had not checked the site out. I am not the person to belong to this group. I am spiritual but not cognizant of scriptures.
That makes me very sad.

Yes Sharon, One of the things we must be careful of ..is that people do not become overwhelmed or intimidated in belonging here because they feel like they don't know enough. One of the reasons we are here is so that young believers will learn, we want them to be discipled and to grow in their faith.. God has his hand on this one too. ;-)

Very wise words indeed, a thought thats always on my mind when talking or even going through life, new christians, non christians are watching and listening, we partray christianity in our lives. Other people should see Jesus through us and not be hurt, put off or confused by our words or actions.

The biggest blessing we can be to anyone, regardless of their maturity level, is to share the truth with them. How we go about sharing the truth can be tricky, if we do not abide in the Spirit. If we do, then no problem, it's all good in the neighborhood. :)
