All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

SO YOU WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

Psalm 25:4 SHOW ME YOUR WAYS, O LORD, TEACH ME YOUR PATHS....

If you have a desire to be successful, you must first define success.

achievement of intention: the achievement of something planned or attempted
- attainment of fame, wealth, or power: impressive achievement, especially the attainment of fame, wealth, or power ... something that turns out well or turns out as planned...
A person who aims at nothing has a target he cannot miss. Therefore, if you don't know where you are going, you should at least know how to get there.

To get you started!

Let us look at the Bible : 2 Timothy 2:5 An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

This is not usually how the SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS MAN views life. He has an attitude of DOG EAT DOG... And SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST...

Much of the world considers PRESTIGE, AUTHORITY and AFFLUENCE to be the UTMOST GOALS.

However, do not look look at what the "world" considers to be SUCCESSFUL. Look at God's word in Deuteronomy : SERVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOU HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL...

Encouragement enables us to move ahead. The Lord told Moses to "command Joshua, and encourage Joshua and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you will see" (Deuteronomy 3:28. There were many things Moses could have done. But God knew what Joshua needed most—encouragement. And this is true of you and me and the people around us. We all need encouragement.

I remember the day I was talking to a lady who had been criticizing her pastor. I then asked her if she had been encouraging him. "Him?" she exclaimed. "He doesn't need encouragement. He's in the limelight all the time telling people what to do!""Well," I said, "that's probably just the kind of person who needs it."

Children who are encouraged daily achieve far more than those who hear constant criticism from parents and teachers. There is no limit to what children or employees will attempt to do when they receive consistent encouragement.

Encouragement banishes fear and promotes courageous behaviour. Most people can do much more than they are now if they are only encouraged. A daughter-in-law, a cousin, a friend, your children or a person next door can actually do great exploits if he or she is encouraged. And you are the person who can make it all happen if you will just say the words!

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

When we encourage others, we become an example of God with "skin on." Our Heavenly Father uses you and me to encourage one another—encouragement comes to us through Scripture reading, quiet times and prayer. But human encouragement is yet another way God uses to bless and minister to His people. God puts His people in places to encourage others with just the right words at just the right time. I have often wanted a "flesh and blood" person to talk to although I know that I can ‘ TAKE IT TO THE LORD IN PRAYER...

Encouragement helps to establish our vocational identity. Each of us needs to know that our work is important and we need to be encouraged. There are so many people who never quite seem to know where they belong or that their daily activities really matter. A person who is encouraged and praised feels on top of things and they have a better judgement than those who are continuously ignored and criticised.

Here, again, I bring in the role of a GOOD TEACHER (LEARNER): He or she could see a young boy who is heading for disaster -becoming a delinquent. Encourage the boy, praise him and make him feel that he is noticed. Perhaps a kindly word like : ‘John, I think you are so sensitive - you will probably make a good doctor!' You could invite him to join a Christian Group and encourage him to attend a camp... Who knows, John may achieve the goal you have set for him!

Do you really want to be a SUCCESS? You can, if you pray and live according to the will of God. No matter what your job... You can make a difference to this turmoil filled world.

Remember that it is not your wealth or position that will count one day when the Lord calls you home...

Psalm 84:3 (King James Version)

YEA, THE SPARROW THAT FOUND AN HOUSE, AND THE SWALLOW A NEST FOR HERSELF WHERE SHE MAY LAY HER YOUNG, EVEN THINE ALTARS, O LORD OF HOSTS, MY KING, AND MY GOD...

(TRUSTING IN GOD ALMIGHTY)

Of course, we know that without hard work and diligence a goal cannot be reached, so I leave this with you:

PROV. 10:4 The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labour.

GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU ALL
