All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Today I was faced head on with a scripture.
Matthew 5: 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

God has called us to be peace makers and do every thing we can to make peace with everyone.
I have been really trying to live as a peace maker especially here on this net.
I am not foolish enough to think that every one is always going to agree with me, but I must, as much as lies within me to live at peace with all men.
The scripture is not about how your feeling, but about your brother or sister that they are upset with you about something concerning you.
It does not say that you did anything wrong, it just says your brother is at ought with you.
I have seen this verse before and some how today God has dealt with me about being a peace maker. God help us all to become peacemakers as Christians.

A peacemaker is a person or organization that attempts to reconcile parties involved in a dispute.

1.As christians we are called to reconsile sinners to God. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. 2Cor. 5:18 Wow what a great job!

1 Timothy 2:5 says; For there is one God and one peacemaker between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

Peace makers promote unity in the Body of Christ.
Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:1-3

Colossians 3:14 says; Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

We as Christian men and women are to have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things. as Heb. 13:18 says.

Being a peace maker is our calling as christians. It is His kindness that leads people to repentance that is working through us.
Romans 2:4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
PEACEMAKERS
Telemachus was a monk who lived in the 4th century. He felt God saying to him, "Go to Rome." He was in a cloistered monastery. He put his possessions in a sack and set out for Rome. When he arrived in the city, people were thronging in the streets. He asked why all the excitement and was told that this was the day that the gladiators would be fighting and killing each other in the coliseum, the day of the games, the circus. He thought to himself, "Four centuries after Christ and they are still killing each other, for enjoyment?" He ran to the coliseum and heard the gladiators saying, "Hail to Ceasar, we die for Ceasar" and he thought, "this isn't right." He jumped over the railing and went out into the middle of the field, got between two gladiators, held up his hands and said "In the name of Christ, forbear." The crowd protested and began to shout, "Run him through, Run him through." A gladiator came over and hit him in the stomach with the back of his sword. It sent him sprawling in the sand. He got up and ran back and again said, "In the name of Christ, forbear." The crowd continued to chant, "Run him through." One gladiator came over and plunged his sword through the little monk's stomach and he fell into the sand, which began to turn crimson with his blood. One last time he gasped out, "In the name of Christ forbear." A hush came over the 80,000 people in the coliseum. Soon a man stood and left, then another and more, and within minutes all 80,000 had emptied out of the arena. It was the last known gladiatorial contest in the history of Rome.
Good words and a much needed reminder to all of us beloved.
