C.S. Lewis wrote in his book Mere Christianity of the Obstinate Tin-Soldier. I think that is one of my very favorite of all his writings. I was an active member of my Dad's church as a boy, even confirmed, but when my Dad and I had a major falling out I completely turned my back on God. I associated with intellectuals, athiests, agnostics. I looked down on 'belief' and adopted logic and reason as my foundation.
